Being a clie forum I understand the bias, but I would also like to hear what you guys have to say. I've posted this question in a pocketpc forum as well, and am interested in your side ;)
I had a Dell Axim, and I sold it because it was too big for me to haul around. The Clie's and the two iPaqs mentioned however are about the right sizes.

Unless you are going to be doing a lot of WiFi, need to use PC card accessories, or have a bunch of old iPAQ sleds, I'd drop the 5550 from your list. The 2215 is much nicer in my opinion, mainly because of the form factor.

Yes, it is very close between the 2215 and the new nx. I would honestly go for the 2215, but I still dont know why :)
I like my nx, it is so good. i wont be upgrading anytime soon though

I have no clue, I had HPC devices once before and I wasn't impressed. I have too much invested in the Palm OS now.

wtf?
Anyway, I've been a Palm OS fan since my Palm Pilot Professional. I tried my luck with a iPaq 3XXX (can't remember, but it was the top-of-the-line PPC when the N760 was out) and I didn't like it. I returned it and got a N760. Later on, I got a NR70V, then I got a Toshiba e740..giving PPC another chance...I hated it. Once the NX70V came out, I bought it. I loved it, minus some problems...but now I have the NX80V and I love it! I looked at the iPaq 5555, but I couldn't get myself to buy it. The PPC OS is just so...windows... =P bloated!

The thing that keeps me from the PPC is the OS. I can't stand it.
Features wise the Ipaq is a great PDA and if you like the PPC OS then go for it. I would recommend the Clie every time though.
Negatives for the Ipaq:
Battery Life
Poor screen resolution
The OS, but thats just my opinion.

I own and use both the 2215 and the NX80V.
The NX80V is my favorite Palm OS PDA, and the 2215 is my favorite PPC 2003 PDA.
I would go with the 2215 over the 5555- it's significantly smaller and lighter, has a CF type II slot and benchmarks a bit faster than the 5555.
The NX80V, like my NX70V before it, is the unit I actually use and take with me most of the time. Higher res display, much better battery life, and less tendancy to crash "in the field". Plus the camera is way too much fun and takes better quality pix than the add-on CF and SD digicams for PPCs. But the 2215 certainly is a very nice PDA, don't get me wrong.

Heh. From the looks of the above posts, it seems as if the choice between 2215 and NX73/80 is mostly personal opinion. I suppose that what you resort to when objectively they come out to about the same. Thanks for your input.
Perhaps I should take advantage of a 30-day return policy at one of my local stores and give the NX73 or NX80 a try ;). I know what PPC's are like b/c of my axim...
