Quoted from Sony website:
"The UX40 also features Dedicated Internal Media Memory (29 MB) for storing multimedia content. The Automatic Data Back-up feature helps protect your information by moving data in RAM memory to non-volatile memory when a low battery state is detected. "
Do you think that JackFlash will work on this memory or is this going to be one of those proprietary things that I will hate about Sony?

You have a better shot of using PowerRun with the 22 MB reserved for music files, etc. It should actually run fast, as long as PowerRun is updated to support this.

Don't forget ZLauncher, it totally replaced PowerRun on my Clie

Can I ask a dumb question? What is PowerRun? Is it like JackFlash?

Er... non-volatile memory is just a general name for memory that does not lose its data even if there is no power supplying it, like a eeprom/flash. Nothing special about it.

No it's not a dumb question. PowerRun moves apps from RAM to the memory stick along with the app's associated files. It stores them there, until you launch the app. PowerRun then copies the app and it's files back to RAM for your use. When done, it updates any databases before moving it back to the memory stick. In some cases, mostly Clie to desktop, it allows the HotSync to work. Zlauncher does the same, even better, because it's multicard aware. Not to mention getting an excellent launcher, file mananger, app launcher, and outstanding support, for 3 bucks cheaper than PowerRun alone.
