Heck no. If it was the Zauarus copy, I'd gladly spend $800 on it!

400Mhz XScale Palm OS 5 Clie with CF slot and 640x480 LCD? YES PLEASE!

Today I decided to read the archives uf the ux forum from the beginning.
How many years do I need according to you? :)

I also found this thread which underlines the basic design notions & the similarities between a sharp & ux.

even if the sony guys copied, they did a good job.
Probably that's because ux still exists & sharp does not. anyway.

<non-accurate>
Laptops copied computer desktops. Desktops copied command prompts. Command prompts copied calculators.
Microsoft copied Apple and Apple copied Xerox.

The list goes on. Basically, Sony did a way better job with the UX than the Sharp devices when it came to usability. Sony's first attempt and they did a great job with two shortcomings: battery and screen. Overall, the UX is the best thing I've seen aside from Sharp Zaurus' later models: SL-C3100, SL-C1000 and the HTC Universal. These devices have a lot of features but they still can't touch the UX in certain areas while the UX can't touch these devices. Things like no wireless on Zauruses is ridiculous. At least WiFi on the SL-C1000 would have been nice addition. I think I'm going to try and hold on to my UX for longer. I've been thinking of replacements and the lists are disappoints after disappointments. Sony may have messed up with the UX's battery but at least they gave us the tools to fix their errors (EB40 and JC40).

These other devices don't have 4 connectors on the back for manipulating. I may be disappointed with the speed and just a little with the screen, I can say that the benefits have definately outweighed the costs or negatives.

Back to copying, I'm glad they copied Sharp because they did something Sharp still has not done, brought Wireless to Clamshells in a small package and that is a true feat in innovation, especially in 2003 (About three years ago).

When I first saw the UX, I knew it was amazing, and something I would never have. Well, I got it 2 years later, and it was cool :D
