That's it. All the reasons I bought this machine was to help me organize, plan, photos, etc... Are still all done on my laptop. Don't ask what I was thinking, but I guess being impulsive is a guy trait.
Anyone think of a good reason why a graphics professional would need an nr70v? I'm still thinking until this is over.

The only reason I got my NX70V and not a $600 laptop was because of portability.

Putting the gadget factor aside, I just love the fact that I can have so much information at my finger tips at any given time...at home or away. I ALWAYS take my Clie with me, and I couldn't imagine dragging a laptop around. It is a remarkable tool that really can simplify your life and save trees in the process. Since I have started using PDA's my purses have gradually become smaller and smaller. Now I use a purse that is about 1" larger all around than a CD case and not quite 2" wide!!! So much easier on the back:D

I Agree 100%.
Up to the purse part anyways :)

Ditto! I love the mobility on a moment's notice, always having something to read/do, etc.

Huge Robots:
I have an Ad Agency and use my NX70V ALL THE TIME.
One of the most important things is to ALWAYS HAVE IT WITH YOU. As it is a very good portable portfolio for your graphics projects. Being able to show someone examlpes of your work when you just meet them can be very impressive.

Exactly. The big reason that I have a PDA is for the huge volume of information it can contain. I can call up a map, databse, book, picture or almost anything else in seconds.
I continually shock people at how much data I have access to (and it'd be more if I went wireless). But, my little secret is that I really don't have ALL data available to me, I am fairly selective and only put data on my PDA that I expect might come in conversation someday.
For example, I have a bunch of game rules for games we are likely to play. I have maps of the local counties and areas I've visited. I have a list of all Academy Award winners and a list every top 40 pop song since 1940.

I'm the same way, I thought I'd use it for planning and notes, but I've found it more invaluable as a reference and entertainment device. I carry street maps, subway maps, a dictionary, major league baseball schedule and stats (to settle arguments), Delta flight schedule as well as a couple of books.
And then of course there's e-mail and smsing as well, i've also got a couple of videos on it and then there's its most used feature, as an mp3 player.
I think if you just put items in there that don't need to be updated, reference material like dictionaries, or whatever type of ref material graphics pros use, then you'll get used to carrying it around and eventually you'll end up expanding the way you use it.

Three main reasons:
1. Instant-on
While a laptop definatly can provide the same information as a PDA and then some, one huge problem with most current laptops is that you have to wait for them to boot...and wait...and wait...
Current PDAs simply are there and ready when you need 'em.
2. Size
And yes, size DOES matter! I can take a PDA with me wherever I go. You simply can't do that with a laptop. Current PDAs are either "pocketable" or "belt-clippable." They are also MUCH lighter than laptops.
3. Battery Life
Until someone releases the Holy Grail of batteries--inredibly small, incredibly long-lasting, and incredibly cheap--laptops are, in my opiniion, relegated to "must-be-near a plug" status. Yes, they are getting better, but I can get days (sometimes weeks) of use out of a PDA--something current laptops can NEVER do.
These reasons, of course, don't even touch on the sheer suefullness that at-your-fingertips data can be in such a portable size.
They both have their purpose and use. Simply put, you can't expect current PDAs to do everything a Laptop can, but you certainly can't expect a laptop to be as portable as a PDA.

Think about how you will actually carry your PDA.
I am a heavy PowerBook user (Ti800), and use it for most everything. But I love having my TG50 with me on a dinner date or night out, or just when shopping around town. Having all my contacts, listening to MP3s on the train, a means of taking notes, or doing a quick web search is extremely useful. I also actually use the voice record feature for business from time to time (never thought I would).
HOWEVER, for me, anything larger than the TG50 might as well be a laptop. The NR70 would get left home. Even the TG50 is approaching "too big". T665 is probably close to the perfect size.
Make sure the PDA you buy will fit comfortably in your pocket so it doesn't end up getting left in the briefcase with your laptop.
How about also using it as a MS card reader as shown here (http://www.cliesource.com/gallery/showphoto.php?photo=614&papass=&sort=1&thecat=500). I put my PowerPoint presentation in MS to a conference. Most of conference room have PC and projectors, so I just stick the Clie into the USB port of the PC and proceed with presentation.

As a broadcast designer/animator, I've found my T655 useful in a couple of ways beyond the normal ....
1) Show off stills / animations - I have one MS full of this stuff, and have found myself in situations where showing off my work has actually lead to a business contact - definitely justifying the cost of the Clie many times over. :) Sure one can give somebody a business card and website, (and I do), but being able to show them right there is priceless, as the commercial says.
2) Quick doodling of storyboard ideas, single panel jokes etc.
Being able to get a rough idea out anywhere, without having to either carry around a mini-sketchpad is very cool. If I get an idea I want to polish off on the desktop, I just take the doodle into Photoshop, upscale it and rework it.
It's also one of the reasons I want to upgrade to a HiRes+ OS 5 device. After playing with the Photo Editor on an NZ, I'm hooked. Still holding my breath for a non clamshell, but that's another thread. :)
I've been planning on upgrading at the end of the summer, and I'm thinking of going with an aftermarket NX70 or a new NX73/80. Not entirely sure yet, but there's still a month more to go :)
Seriously, if you're a graphics professional, try out some of those tools. You may find a whole new life with it.

You are so clever, lol. What format do you have th top 40 songs since 1940? Wouldn't be a HandyShopper database file would it?

my NEW NX80V ,everything got changed. I just hope the swivel will hold for long period of time.

Form factor really counts. What shape it is, how far away from it you are when you use it, how big the screen is, whether it has a keyboard, whether it uses a stylus, those things determine how it gets used more than anything else. ---M.A.

You know that your PDA can also be a nice Hymnal if you are like me and forget songs. I like to sing worship songs and hymns in my car and when in my quiet times. I just can't remember the words.

It's an iSilo document. It's 685k.
What's a Handy Shopper database? I have Handy Shopper and have just been using it for standard shopping things--you know, like "get toothpaste" and such.

Free your mind of the association with shopping. I made the ultimate Todo list in there, using it instead of the built-in Todo (you can set alarms!!). I also made a db to track debit/credit-card purchases, just as a holder til I see them on a statement. Check out the Yahoo group Handyshopper files area:
