durable/toughest

what is the most durable or toughest CLIE or PDA. I was always impressed by the ability of my Visor to survive a drop... Less impressed with the T415. Now considering a SJ22 or 665C or.....

Maybe the SJ33 with the hard flip cover.

i've dropped my sj33 twice and the only bad tihng is the flip cover neatly snaps off, but you can snap it right back on. The flipcover scratches up like no-other!

You can pick any unit you like, if you decide to just not ever drop the thing...

I am actually in the same situation as you are. I dropped my Visor Deluxe TWICE on concrete ground.....and it still works perfect, digitizer, screen and everything else. The power button sometimes needs to be pressed 2-4 times before the thing comes on though.....and when it fell, it had the snap-on cover (which comes with the Visor) each time. I think that's just plain luck, because I've read many horror stories on the net about people dropping Visors and the screen would crack instantly....they probably did NOT have the snap-on cover on at the time.

NOW, I want to get an SJ22. I'm wondering if it's as durable as the Visor. I've heard people say that the flip cover does NOT protect the PDA that well (although it's a nice dust shield)....if you plan on dropping it, it's better if you got a real case for it.......I probably will do that.

The SJ22 cover could be made a whole lot more useful if you attach a tiny piece of Velcro to the unit and the inside of the cover. Just enough to keep it from flopping open in the event of a drop (as inevitably it would, like buttered bread hitting the floor buttered side down).

I did in fact get the SJ22 and like it very much. I dont intend on dropping it......

The velcro suggestion is a good one an might help avert a break. To buy another cover or case may make this too fat to be handy. BTW..those who buy this should know that sonystyle.com will mail a free leather case to anyone buying a SJ22, 33 or the TG50.

actually, one clie is not any more durable than amother. they all share one problem...the glass-top. it's made of glass (hence the name glass- top) and if you drop it so many times, eventually it will break

But the clamshell ones are usually closed when in the pocket, therefore no direct glass-ground interaction.
