Lately I am storing some Clips on my CF and I was realizing that said clips was appearing a little WIDER than normal,(whatever AVI or MPG) and I was wonder why...
Some of them came from my TRV25 and others from TV serials. I was using capture mode from Adobe Premiere and/or Smartcapture or other sofwares, then I use Image Converter to make them viewable from the Clie.
Last night I noticed that most of my clips was saved in 720x480 instead of 640x480 and in 352x240 instead of 320x240 which looks it is a classical and accepted DV resolution.
So there is my problem.
Why it is so? Is it a way to convert to 4:3/640/480 or 320/240
resolution?
Since I use a laptop; I dont have a capture card (I have an old
ATI AIW, but you know how specific and weird are those ATIs codecs),

There is a good software which may get good captures in a real 320/240 format (or 640/480)??
I guess I can not get more than 640x480 (thinking about image manipulation - the larger the resolution the better)

Thanks

352x240 is the standard Video CD resolution for NTSC video system.
720x480 is the standard DVD and MiniDV resolution for NTSC video system.

Depending on what software you are using, it may just capture at those resolutions.

I use Ulead Video Studio (http://www.ulead.com/vs/runme.htm) which is very easy to use and it can output in a lot of different video formats and resolutions.

Thanks raphael; yes, it looks that all depends on the capture software; I like Adobe Premiere, even its heaviness. I wonder why everything is standardize to 720x480 f.i. which produces a wider and non natural image in DVD format...

Thanks again;
