I am trying to update ZLauncher which is in flash right now. However when I try to move it into ram or delete it I get the message that it is currently in use.
I am not using it and have done a soft reset. What else do I need to do?

Did you already install the new version of ZLauncher before moving the old one out of Flash?

If so, you need to Delete the new version from RAM, move the old version out of Flash and reinstall the new version over the old one. JackFlash seams to get confussed if you have the same Application in RAM and Flash at the same time.

This is what worked for me on several upgrades of ZLauncher on an NX70v.

Have you tried unchecking the option for ZLauncher to be your default launcher in ZL Preferences. Just a guess, since I don't use JF for ZLauncher.

Very simple, exit to the standard Clie launcher first and then select JackFlash from there. I get the same error all the time if I don't do the aforementioned steps first. :)

Do what excelir says. He's got it right. You have to delete it in RAM, move the old one from flash to RAM, sync the new vision to RAM and then put it back in flash.

Personally, with so many updates to zlauncher, I just leave it in RAM rather than go through the hassle. There's lots of other stuff I can put in flash.

Right, but he can't move it from Flash, because he used ZLauncher to launch JackFlash first. If he drops back to the default Clie launcher and runs JF from there, he then should have no problem. I don't see where he said he had ZL in both RAM and Flash at the same time??

I do exit from ZLauncher before trying to move it out of flash.

It seems like there is still a small part of ZLauncher running some how even after I exit.

Are there any apps to see processes running on a palm?

Do you have ZL assigned to any hardware buttons?

Nope

Have you disabled QL Anywhere, including the hack, if you're using OS4. Also may be related to apps moved to the zlauncher/apps subdirectories and related shortcuts. May have to delete all shortcuts and after updating run update all shortcuts. These are just guesses. As I said, I don't use ZL in flash.

OK, update I tried to move other files to RAM and the same message is popping up that the program is in use and cannot be moved to RAM, so my guess is that this is a JackFlash issue.

By the way I have an NX60

I don't think it's a JackFlash issue. I also have an NX60 and ZLauncher and just ran Jack from ZL and moved it back into RAM and then back into flash without a warning or hitch. I'm using the latest released beta of ZL. I know that's not a resolution, but just wanted to say that it should be possible.

Definitely a strange one. The latest ver was JF v3.0b8 I believe. If it's happening to a bunch of other apps, then it's sounds like the Clie's memory has some sort of glitch in it.

Certain drivers can give the same error message too, but mostly if they're being moved into Flash.

Well, I believe that the issue was with JackFlash.

The solution:
Delete JackFlash and reinstall it.

Now everything works just fine.

Thanks For the Help
