Silver Screen Skins

These are some very simple Silver Screen Skins that I am working on. Since ML4 hasn't come out yet, I need something new for my NR70V. I have just started doing skins and these are very basic but I wanted some new spring colors. I haven't gotten into changing icons yet, but I think these are pretty. If you have any suggestions please email me, or you can help me out with them. These skins pretty much match Jshapp's Doozer VG Skins. I am Obsessive Compulsive about having the Launcher skin match the VG Skin. Lol. I don't know how to upload the files yet so you'll have to email me or tell me how to do it. I've tried to attach the pics. I'll have to see if it will work. I have some done in blue stripe, orange check, green check, yellow and red.

Based on the threads here, you would be better off creating skins for ZLauncher or LauncherX. :)

Hey! I still keep Silver Screen around! I switch launchers regularly. Right now I'm back to LIII!

I'd like a hires skin with purple or Garfield or religious themes...maybe Easter...eggs, bunnies, a cross

It's funny, before I bought my Sony, I thought SilverScreen was the most unbelievable launcher for the Palm OS I had ever seen...I was a registered user from version 1.4 to 2.9. But then I came to this site and it is hardly ever discussed or included in the top 3 launcher lists. Even Facer which is as shallow as they come, gets more "face" time than SS. (pun intended) :D

Today I am a registered zLauncher fan - the launcher wars are over for me.

It fun and not all that hard.

I do use SS and really do like it. I have tried other launchers but I am too used to working with SS and find it does everything that I need.

Thanks, DStolarski, for the encouragement. Nobody ever mentions Silver Screen anymore. I, like PurpleMD, switch back and forth with MegaLauncher. I just thought I would try my hand at the skins. You're right, it's not that hard and I can finally get the skin that I like. But like Festus says, it's more than I ever wanted to know about bitmaps. But I would like to exchange some of the skins that we've done. I still like Silver Screen. And it does do everything that I need a launcher to do. I am stuck with the "how to" on some of the app icons and transparencies. And if I can finally get it figured out, then I will try to upload some to the skins section. Thanks. Pippa. :rolleyes:

However, I've since removed both SS and LX and haven't looked back. SS ended up being a big disappointment to me. No updates. Virtually no skins. There's a reason it gets no "air time."

Seriously, though. I don't mean to discourage anyone from creating skins for SS. If they make some good ones, I just hope they make them for ZLauncher, too! :)

I also want to add that I really like SilverScreen, and I would be intrested in seeing some cool skins for it. I used SilverScreen for a while, but have now moved to ZLauncher. But SilverScreen is still in second place on my list of favorite launchers and when SilverScreen 3 comes out, I just might go back.
But keep up the good work, one of SS's biggest drawbacks is lack of skins, so they need all they can get!

I just finished doing the trial thing with Zlauncher and found it to be really good with some very cool features that I wish SS had but overall there was not enough for me to justify a change.

I also think that the skinning thing is the driver for SS not being more popular, like cbulock said. In looking at all the creativity thats been applied to the other launchers, I'd love to see what someone with talent could do with SS.

Im creating a skin for SS also. In fact I'm done with it... But I just CANNOT find any program to put it together so that i can use it...

Please help! where can i download teh silverscreen skin maker if there is one...

Since there is someone in this thread interested in SilverScreen themes, I have some of them downloadable from PalmGear or Handango, either freeware or commercial (please don't take it as advertisement, it was just an answer).

You can find them under the name Colorado.

firecow, you need to download the Festus SS Skin Maker from his home page. I don't know the link but you can find it on here if you do a search for "tutorial", I think anyway. Pip.

SilverScreen is just too much like the default launcher, and one of the most expensive at $25!

ZL is still the best and $12! It's a lot better looking, and more bang for the money.

Like some of you, I have been working on making a SS skin. It is finished except for the icons. I am interested in builiding the skin to make sure the colors and positions are okay before releasing it. Also I am looking for someone to help me finish the skin by making icons. Any takers? I tried attaching an image, but it did not post.
