View Full Version : Finger Printy Ugly Case

My SJ33 case is all scratched and figer printy. I would like to remove the cover, but don't know how. Any Suggestions? Thanks.

It tells you how to do it in the manual. Open the lid fully. With one hand, hold one side of the hinge. With the other hand ever so gently pull apart and up to remove the flap. I've done it a couple times on one I was testing because i didn't know if I would like the flip cover or not. The plastic never broke or showed any signs of stress lines.

Mine actually came off quite cleanly when it fell out of my pocket onto a carpeted floor.

However, I really don't recommend this method of removal.

I did see a site that has replacement covers in more colors than just the standard issue 3.

I've also noticed that this case is a fingerprint magnet.

So far it's the worst thing I've found, and that is just fine with me!! :D

I like the styling alot too.
I'm about to turn 37, and I was young when the Walkman hit big.
the controls are pleasantly retro, while the unit (for me anyway) is super wiz-bang! (I just upgraded from a Palm m130 and a history of only running/seeing Palm handhelds.)

I've always admired Sony styling, and I admit I'm really happy to be on board.

Now I just wish there was an SJ33 avatar!!

Get the replacemnt covers which come in neat fading colors (Black-->Grey for my black SJ33) AND they don't get al finger "printed"...

Kind of makes me feel like a messy kid when I see all the finger prints on my cover.

Agreed.
It seems like using a t-shirt cleans it up nicely though.

I have to check out those flip covers, they sound killer!

Look for them at Amazon.com That's where I bought mine. They are made by SOny, not by third party manufacturers....
