I have an NZ90 for the past 4 months and love it! I have a few questions that maybe someone can answer to make the NZ90 even better!

1. Has anyone figured out how to hack the AV input on the cradle to play movies on TV? That would be awesome and I would pay for that ability!

2. Is there any way to change the Movie Recorder options to record at hgher resolutions? Now that you can easily buy larger memory at cheaper prices, I would like to have a larger resolution like a digital camcorder. I would pay for this to!

3. Has anyone figured out how to modify the Clie Pad to extend to the hotsync input area? Best Buy is selling them for $8!

4. I update my Clie Cam with the latest update, but I really do not notice much of a change. However, my battery keeps dropping from 90% to 40% after I snap one or two pictures. When I go back to the main launcher, the battery goes back to about 82%. Is this normal? Is there any kind of patch or trick to not lose so much battery life? When it drops from 90% to 40%, how much power do I actually I have remaining for the camera for future pictures on the current battery?

Any help or advice would be much appreciated!

4. In my NZ90, after applied the patch of CLIE Cam S, it really can save some power. You can try to search in this forum, there are some suggestions for extending battery duration.

For me, I will put my NZ in cradle as long as possible, it makes my battery life a little bit longer.

And your case about battery level changes is normal, because NZ is using "SmartLITHIUM" (really smart? I don't think so :D), it will show battery level depends on your situation, such as application running, backlights, etc... Tricks of using Cam are: switch off the flash if possible and quit CLIE Cam S ASAP if not used.

Thanks for all your responses. I am really interested in the first two items, but I guess I need a little patience. The NZ90 is the best PDA on the market, and it will only get better as developers come out with ways to take advantage of the features.

BTW, I saw the Clie Pad for $8 at the Best Buy in Memphis...so it may just be a local thing. Should I buy it?

You're referring to the Clie Game Controller right? It's $8 here in Houston too. It's $8 everywhere. The cord does extend a little bit, but I'm not sure if it will work with the NZ.

After applying the camera update, I also set the flash to "Off". Then I went into Setup, clicked on "Save Setting", selected "Flash Mode" and then "Ok". Now whenever the application starts, it seems to bypass the flash charge. Battery life is better than 1.0, so there does seem to be some updated code.

Just my experience.

It's a game pad that works with all the clies but the NZ90... I really don't need one but it would be cool to have.

ok here's some tips. There is a battery backpack you can buy for nz that has 4 aa batters. hook this puppy up and away you go. you will fill a 256 ms with pics befor nz dies with flash.
but yes install the patch and turn off flash if not needed.
these battery packs can be found on e-bay for cheap.

Second clie gamepad will work with modifications. I cut the cord in half and spliced in a old hot sync cord piece about 4" long and heat shrink tubed it up. wha la game pad.

as for the rest I have not played with video much. But I have a question of my own.
I would like to know the best quaulity encoder for makeing movies from vcd's to clie and what setting work best on that program, also is running said movie off a cf card work well?
I would like to buy a 512 or 1 gig 32x speed pro digital card.
with the faster tranfer speeds can the cf driver support for digital video and mp3 playback.
I see Kinoma Producer 1.5.1 has nz90 presets now for hi rez and wide screen has anyone used it yet?
