I downloaded 'Saving Private Ryan' and have converted it to a mpeg video with the following settings to try and get a small file:
320x240 pixels
15 fps
192 kbits/sec video
96 kbits/sec audio
32000 Hz audio

However, even with these very low settings, I still get a video that is 339MB. This is a big problem for me as at the moment I only have a 64MB memory stick. I am looking to buy a 128MB memory stick or a 256MB compact flash card (I have an NX70 clié).

Is it possible to convert the video to fit my 64MB memory stick, or at worst, fit on a 256MB compact flash card?

I also have another problem, as at the moment I cannot play movies off a compact flash card. I don't have the eruware driver, but I do have the other compact flash driver. How can I play movies off a compact flash card?

Thanks for any help, David

just set it to long mode, but quality will be CRAP. I don't think the video will fit on 64mb ms. it will probably come out to fit on a 128mb ms

It really won't be worth watching, if you try to fit an entire 2 hour+ movie in 64 MB. Even 128 MB would be pushing it IMO, for a movie with lots of action.

Put it on your CF Card.

Get the latest version or the NX80 CF driver from pelaca (check the Compact Flash Forum). It comes with data import so you can even write straight to the CF from your PC like you do with MS.

Second, you mite want to try the Image Converter Prefs Program that Hans wrote (check the Video Forum) to change the bitrates and settings of the IC profiles.

Just convert your films with IC, and send them to your compact flash (make sure they are in the right directories (same as MS)) to view them, simply open Movie Player and make sure only your CF is inserted.

Voila

Matt

P.s. to seek the movie when it is on your CF, make sure you STOP the movie first, or else your device will freeze.

CompactFlash would be your best option to get a good quality movie running on your Clie without problems. :)

Thanks everyone. I have bought a 128MB memory stick, and will probably get a 256MB CF card and buy the eruware driver, as I haven't had a very good experience with the other drivers.
