Hi,

I just purchased a Sony Clie TG50 - but i have no intention of buying a Memorystick as i do not have a need to play movies etc. at this time.

My question is, how do i transfer a few images from my PC to the PDA directly (not to the Memorystick) - as i have about 7MB free on the PDA.

The ImageConverter software that came with TG50 seems to have an option only to export to Memorystick and not to the PDA. I did not see any option in the Sony Picture Gear Studio to this either.

As usual calling Sony's "tech support" was not of any help

Thanks

Not sure how to do that, but you might want to consider purchasing a Memory Stick, even if it's a cheap 32MB one. You will run into a number of problems trying to do things without one.

you can use PictureGear instead of Image Converter. It gives you options to send images directly to MS or to your Palm during next HotSync

That's only with OS4 clies I believe, picturegear studio is for albums. There's even 8mb and 16mb models, but 128mb sticks come CHEAP, people have found them for $20-$30.

I just checked - and old PictureGear works fine with both OS4 ( mine N610) and OS5 ( my wife's TG50).
I am using PictureGear Lite 4.4 - it came together with my N610C.
I have not installed new PictureGear from TG50 CD , so can not tell if it works like the old one.

I use picturegear lite as well. Mainly becaues AcidSolitaire lets you use pgp files as backgrounds.

I have used picture gear lite which came with my SJ30, seems to work fine with my TG50 although I now put an image for example a 320 x 320 background for Yishow on my MS as a jpg which compressed is about around 20 to 30 kb where as a pictured converted with picgear lite straight to the tg memory is a much larger file,
go on treat yourself, you can get a 32 mb stick off ebay for next to nothing, in fact you can get them so cheap you may as well get a 64 mb, I upgraded from a 64 to a 128 mb when I got my TG50 but this was so I could fill it up with mp3's and movies, and even that cost me about £25 off ebay.

Memory Stick.....don't leave home without it.
