My dear fellow NXers,

I'm having my NX70V now and I'm battling whether I should upgrade to NX80. I was at Sony's showroom the other day and played with NX80 and it was "smooooooth". Nice body, look & etc.

Just like everybody else here (maybe), I'm not completely into clamshell design. Reading ebooks with "clamshells" opened is very nice while writing on tablet mode is for sure in line with human engineering. Turning the screen all the time is not exactly sth pleasant you want to do all the time.

So I'm waiting for machines built with OS6, VG with large screen and no clamshells. Wonder if anyone here has sources to know how long I have to wait if I pass NX80 this time.

Ya ya ya I know I am already addicted and I'm losing my original purpose of having a PDA. But can't help it!! Damn Sony...

If you are wanting to wait for an OS6 device, rumors have been that the first devices will probably appear around the beginning of next year. Hopefully thats true since that only about 6 months away, and I will probably be ready to upgrade my NX60 by then. As for a non-clamshell VG Clie, who knows. I'm shocked Sony hasn't made this device by now, so I guess it could be tommorrow, or it could be two years from now.

There's a thread where someone says such device will be out by thanksgiving... if that's true, i will surely change my NX70 by December.

Is there any compelling reason that you need to move to the NX80, other than wanting one?

You're right...it's just sheer lust I'm having with NX80! That's the sad part.

But I thought it all over tonight I dont think I'll have another clamshell Clie.

I personally prefer the clamshell for protection. I used to complain about the size, but when I have had the non clamshell and used the covers for my previous Palms, it made it just as thick anyway. Besides I like having a choice of a clamshell with keyboard and having a tablet that can close and pop in my pocket without much worry. Just my opinion. I will also say this, between the screen, the new buttons, the extra programs, the smaller form, the look, the memory etc, I am loving my NX 80 and think I am holding on to this one for quite awhile.....finally found something I have been looking for.
