So yesterday I stood there at Circuit City, playing with the NX80V. My initial impression was good, but not great. I walked away deciding that my NR70V was o.k. until the Fall, mainly because I didn't like the new retractable stylus, the keyboard felt flat, and the wireless 802.11b is still not integrated and kicks the price up another $150.
But after a horrible night's sleep, where I kept picturing the other great advantages over the NR70V, namely more built in memory, CF support, wireless support (even though it's expen$ive, I still want it), voice recording, etc., I'm thinking I might take the plunge.
But here's what I'm wondering:
(1) Somebody made a post saying that they preferred the NR70V for audio, because it supports stereo...instead of the newer models that support only mono. Was this person nuts or is there some truth to this (maybe video player?)
(2) Can you store video files to the CF card and play them back? (Somebody posted that you can only listen to MP3's off the memory stick and I wondered the same about the video.)
(3) Kind of related to #2--is there some type of player that would allow me to watch the movies that I've encoded in DivX on the new Clie?
(4) I still have trouble with my memory stick popping out when the unit is in my pocket. Does the side slot function better?
(5) Is is pretty easy to connect to wired hotspots? (NX70V users would know about this, too.) I have a WAP at home but am wondering if I can set up a couple different profiles. e.g., one for home and one for Borders bookstore.
(6) Is it really worth $600 (NX80V) + $150 (Wireless) + Memory Stick Pro ($?) + Sales Tax...ballpark $800 something for this bad boy?
Thanks.
