Hi,

I'm making the switch today from Memory Stick 128 meg to a Memory Stick Pro 256 meg.

Two questions:

1) Will I notice a speed increase on a Clie NX80?

2) Any advice on switching from one to the other? Is it simply a matter of copying the entire memory stick to my PC and then copying to back to the new one?

1) I want to get one also, just red Sony specifications, it seems that Clič is compatible, so it supports the size of new MS pro, but not the speed.
2) Copying is just as you said, at least this is what I did in the past switching from a regular MS to another.
3) How much did you pay, I'd like to get one and am searching for best price ;o)

Where did you read that the speed is slower on a Clie NX80?? I paid in Canadian dollars - $179.00 from Future Shop.

Just pick up a Pro256 last night at Best Buy for $109 (open box item, normally $119). Haven't had it long enough to evaluate. I'm actually trying to find out why it only has 238 Mbytes available after format.

It has to do with the way that memory is calculated. I can't remember the exact formula. I remember the 1mb is not really 1mb, but the figure is rounded off, like 1kb is really 1024bytes. My 512mb MS Pro had 470mb free when it was right out of the box. A 128mb MS has 123mb free. The 1gb MS Pro has 940mb free.
