Since i own a NX-60 and have somewhat tested a NX-70v's camera. Is that smalll low resolution camera worth an extra $100 for the same PDA. I am planning to get a SONY Cyber Shot DSC-P72, 3.2MP 3x Optical. This camera has as much video (MPEG mode + Sound) as your MS can carry. [Read that a 128MB MS can record 22min. of video.] The pictures and videos can be played on my NX-60, so i really think it is just better having a NX-60 + SONY digital camera, instead of any built in camera in the CLIEs
[Opinions on NX-70v or other CLIE PDA Camera Welcomed]

If you have another digital camera, you don't need the NX70 camera. ITs only 640*480 and uses a CMOS sensor...
The NX80 camera on the other hand would be nice to have at 1.3 megapixel....but not really a necessity if you have your own camera once again..

its not worth 100. but then again, a nz90 is not worth 800. who cares as long as you afford it. otherwise, get rid of the bugger.

There are some advantages about having one integrated device:
- One shared battery
- One shared charger
- One shared cradle/cable
- One shared memory stick
- One shared screen (320x480 vs the tiny one on a DC)
- Portability, you always carry the PDA with you
Worth it or not it is up to you to decide. I use it everyday for my photo-blog, see my sig.

Its really useful if you don't normally carry around a camera. For example in another thread I demonstrated how useful it it was to me becuase I always carry my clie. Also it is easier to "shoot from the hip" because it has a larger screen than most LCD cams and some cams don't have one at all.
Plus there's the "stealth" factor.

Nice! What software do you use on your NX (and PC)?
Thanks,

The built in camera offers a few advantages, or at least uses:
a) Discretion
Especially for snapping quick pics for address cards and so on, there is nothing more discrete than the camera on the PDA solution. You just sort of point shoot, and no one has to know... Rather than saying "Cheese, I have a bad memory and want a picture of you for my digital Rolodex..." Or to catch a quick candid picture, again, a camera calls attention to itself, a guy with a PDA, does not...
b) High Res Isn't always needed
For some uses, even 640 x 480 is a large picture. For example: the internet. If you are a mobile web author, who works, writes or BLOGs on the go and wants to post pictures from your palm with you WiFi card, seldom do you need picture larger than 640x480, in fact often times you would scale the image down for a web site...
Obviously a 640x480 camera isn't meant to compete with a 4MegaPixel Digital Camera. Its like saying that the CyberShot you have is meant to compete with a MiniDV Camera as far as quality, versatility and is meant to be used the same way when shooting video. Would you record a wedding with the video features of a CyberShot? No. But would you take quick little clips on a vacation with your Family? Sure. Same thing with a real digital camera and the ones built into a Clié (Although the newer ones start to integrate full featured Digital Cameras!) Would a professional photographer shoot images for print in a magazine with an NX70V? No. But if he wants to shoot a quick breaking news story and have it posted on the web in seconds, might he use the NX70v? Sure.
So I agree that it might not be worth it for most people because they think of it as a replacement for a digital camera, when it is, I think, a different kind of camera with totally different advantages and thereby useful for a completely different set of applications...

I use AcidImage on my NX for viewing the photos. And on the desktop I use Microsoft Photo Editor (comes with MS Office) to resize and adjust the photos. For the web pages I simply use Notepad.
I also have a SONY F505V camera, but it is way too big so I take it with me on special occasions only. For daily snapshots I just use my NX.

Cloudless is the perfect example of a NX's camera being put to the best use possible...
Great Blog! I love it, I was planning on starting something similar once I get my NX on Sat.

No, because I refuse to buy the ridiculously priced WiFi card from SONY. By the way I prefer to edit my web pages on the desktop.

I forget, does Hong Kong have an ebay site? If it does, maybe there's a chance of getting one there.
