It is possible to watch movies in NX60/70 using original Clie Viewer (1.0) with Eruware CF Driver (1.2) perfectly without any fatal errors. I just tested it. Clie Viewer 1.0 supports Multi-Cards, but updated version does not.
My configuration is NX70V/U with original Clie Viewer (1.0) and Eruware CF driver 1.2.
Follow these steps.
1. If you updated Clie Viewer, return back to original version.
2. If you didn't install Eruware CF Driver 1.2, buy and install it.
3. Turn off NX60/70.
4. Insert CF card into slot, then you can hear the 'beep' sound.
5. Turn on NX60/70. Go to CF Utility and check 'Dual MS Mode.'
6. Push the button 'Mount Card.'
7. Then, insert MS.
8. Go to Clie Viewer application and you can feel very fast loading speed of movies in CF card.
9. Select a movie in the list and then Clie Viewer plays movie very smoothly.
If you move status bar forward or backward while movie is playing, you don't see any fatal error messages.

F Y I...

This has also worked for me. I have also used TMPGenc to create .MPG's that play really well and are only a bit larger in size and have no issues with or without using ClieViewer. Check out this thread for details:

hm...just tested it. I don't see much different than opening up my movie player except that I can also access to the movie on ms.
I moved the status bar forward while movie is playing, no fatal error messages, but it freezes. soft reset...yikes

That has been the usual way to watch movies; the main problem has been to record movies or taking photos and saving them on CF ... :)

movie seek during playback has beeb a known issue that'll cause the unit to freeze, resulting in soft-reset.
But with the mpeg method it's quite easier on the Clie and you can seek forward & backward without any problems whatsoever, but file size is the main drawback.

I happen to find that in some movies it does play while in others it freezes the clie and i have to do a soft reset

Does anyone know which movies are more likly to play (For example a 100 megs movie play while a 2 megs doesnt

Im using a 1GB 40x PQI card.

Any other suggestions would be appreciated...

BTW is it possible to convert from a MQV movie back to mpeg?? to whatch it using the other method??
