Hey guys, I had a problem with my NX70 where its camera was crooked and a pixel died. Best Buy didn't have any more so I decided to try the NX80. I caught wind of a Staples printable coupon that offers $30 off $150 or more, Best Buy accepted it, and Circuit City said they would. I went with Best Buy because I like their Replacement plan. Here it is.....

Ayasin, the people that were arrested were creating a disturbance and not allowing the business to be operated.
If somebosy came into YOUR business, started pitching a fit and began actively telling other potential customers not to shop here, while on YOUR property, in YOUR business, you would let them do so. or would you as well have them arrested?
Nobody was arrested for just showing up to get their card, they were arrested for acting like asses.

Sorry, and as far as i know, best buy's price match requires a specific product, identical to the item in question be offered in a print ad, not internet, must be IN STOCK at the nearest location (No staples in chicago area), and be within 30 days of purchase.
Heck, the store i am at is so strict about internet offers that we will not match our OWN website. PRINT AD ONLY!
Meant to bring that up but the whole "BB is arresting customers" thing is annoying the pants offa me.

Speaking of trading in nx70's for 80's....I wonder if I could purchase a CompUSA plan (lets you do it even if not originally bought from store.) and do the same thing there?

You are lucky my local CC and BB would just laugh they will only PM to CC or BB, now I can get my local Office Depot to PM CC or BB sometimes, and sometimes they will accept other Office Supply store coupons, good for you.

In my opinion it is still a complete rip-off. You are still looking at $610+ out the door before the warranty. If you are patient and wait for a Dell deal you can get one for $100 - $150 less than that...

I went to b.b and they would not let me trade up for my nx70, said that the screen is haveing problems which is true, overuse i guess, but they just said even though i have the replacement warrenty, that i can leave it with them to be looked at (shipped) no way i dont think i would ever see it again. so i am still debating it, do you know where to look to see what future models are comming out? druss, bb does not offer the replacement plans on pda's. they offer a sevice plan, which, at discretion of the district and region, can be used to swap out a device of comparable or better performance. 2 issues there tho. that is at BB's discretion, if that Store/Dist/region requires service, then away it must go. and as far as comparable, that is also the choice of best buy, remember that when you go in and start yelling at the tech and calling the customer service rep a *****. THEY are the people who will decide what you can have. Should see the look on peoples face when i tell that that their equitble machine is a Tungsten T. Ever seen a grown man cry, I have.
And to X420 I have been told by CC employees that they sell the plans on the items no matter where they were bought. Even had one pitch me, by saying i could cover it for full price even tho i paid employee price!!! (tempting....sooooo tempting) at 600 bucks, versus my open box/employee/last day of the month/no box price of 200 dollars, i thought about it for a while.

You know what...if a store took my money then refused to give me either the money back or the merchandice that I purchased you're d*mn right I'd pitch a fit. There are more than 2000 people now having to SUE BB to get their money back. If BB made a mistake, fine, stuff happens. What's their excuse for not providing refunds to people who already paid but never got the merchandise?

I go through the back up folder (hot sync folder) and delete what i dont want out of there, and then hot sync. I come up with programs that I deleted a month ago? then everytime i do hotsyn the ZLauncher even though set goes right back to original theme, but the sand BG does not show up. and the stay on in cradle i check it and every time i put it back in the cradle it shuts off. so that does not stay checked. is this normal? If the product was ordered online for pickup at the store then the customer is not charged until they are rang out at the POS. None of these people are sueing to get their money back, they are sueing, in a class action, totry to force bb into honoring the price on the cards and to get the money they believe they are owed.
And welcome to modern life, If you pitch a fit in a store, you are gonna get tossed out.
I would get angry if a store had taken my money without giving me product as well, but i would make sure they took my money, and i would make sure that i am in the right. If they believed that this guy had a bogus reciept then they should have told him no. And if he snapped, then maybe he should consider counselling, because if you cannot act like a civilized human being then you deserve what you get.
And as for BB being on the ropes for this issue, i work for them, and i asked around the store, 1 other person knows about this, and he found out about it here as well. If this were such a HUGE, dominating issue, you think bb would inform the store managers about it, don't ya?
I would guess that BB is in the fight based on their principles. It aint really for the money, because the court battles will likely cost more than the loss on the product.
I hope that a year from now, the courts rule AGAINST BB, stating that they need to honor the ad, regardless of the disclaimer that was with it, but the should also make sure that the people who forced the issue have to make the purchase. and i hope bb keeps about 2000 of those old cards.
That would serve 'em right.

Ok, I realize you work for and really like BB. When I hear stories about people being arrested for trying to claim a card they already paid for (when 10 days prior someone was able to do it with the same manager) it makes me upset. When I hear stories of people getting arrested for price shopping because they are writing down prices for TVs I'm a bit miffed (BTW BB lost that court case and the Judge majorly chastised them for it). I won't shop at BB anymore, but there are lots of other stores here and fortunately Fry's is within 4 miles of my house. Anyone else is welcome to do what they like.

I bought the NX70 last week with the plan. I exchanged it for the reasons I listed, upon ringing up the New NX80, I handed her the printable coupon, and she accepted it and took the $30 off, so I paid the difference and transferred the Warranty to the NX80. The reason they accept it is because Staples DOES get these units in. Best Buy and Circuit City want my business. They would rather me purchase the NX80 from them at $30 off then at Staples for $30 off, so it is considered a pricematch.
Ash, I don't trust Dell. I purchased a memory stick from them for 60 Bucks 2 months ago, it took a month to receive it. When it comes to expensice electronics I cannot afford to wait 2, 3, even 4 weeks to receive it and have nothing in the meantime for my PIM. God forbid I receive a defective unit I have to wait how much longer to receive a replacement if thats what it comes to. I'll pay the extra few bucks for piece of mind.
thanks for the tip, but as stated above the coupon doesnt work (30 off purchase of >150 at staples).
Yet that did stop me.
I downloaded the coupon and an online price quote from Frys for a SJ22 @ $169, they did the price match plus 10% and then applied the coupon anyway - although the first store i went do wouldnt/couldnt do this....the second one did!

Remember some of those are just stories...the internet has a way of letting things get exaggerated to the extreme. Refunds were offered but people refused...if anyone was arrested it was because the local police found them guilty or trespassing and being unruly. I have seen this happen many times. There is a price mistake that is BLATANTLY OBVIOUS and it gets posted all over the internet, within minutes there are hundreds or even thousands of orders. Then people start moaning and whining about legality, misleading the consumer, etc. The fact remains that not one person who ordered that card thought it was the correct price. Under the law your expectation is judged by reasonable prudence, a reasonably prudent person would realize it was a mistake and they most likely would not get the card.
What if you were selling a product on eBay for $1000 and accidentally listed it for $100. You had 100 of them for Buy It Now and before you could even realize it they were all purchased. Should you honor the price as a small business man even at a loss of $90,000?
