Seriously, what is it, what does it let you do? what are its real capabilityes as oppossed to changing the VG like I can do on my NR?
Can WS allow changing things enough so I don't need tappad?

Can WS allow changing things enough so I don't need tappad? There are a lot of terrific threads on WonderSilk and you can find them by doing a search (just click on the word search in the upper right hand corner) I don't believe it works on the NR.

By all means, do a search, but to answer your question, it is a "silk plug-in" that activates in the Virtual Graffiti area replacing the StandardInput Graffiti area. (This concept has been used to create several other "Silk Plug-in" apps that are selected using the Silk Plug-in button (the fourth from the left on the bottom of the Status bar) on the NX series Clies. Using the Windows WonderMaker program, you can create and customze Skins to your heart's content (if the sources are provided). You then just create a file, import it into your Clie, and select it using the included "Kinu-maru" manager program.
The cool thing is that it's not just a "skinning" app. It gives you the ability to define up to 40 buttons, each of which can have one of about 64 or so functions (of that 64, many are "characters" or "digits" but not the whole alphabet.) Functions range from launching apps assigned to "hard" buttons to controlling MP3 playback, and a few others. You can define the buttons using supplied images or you can use your own customized images.
As far as being a TapPad replacement, there are several TapPad-like skins available for WonderSilk, but unfortunatly, it seems that there is something inherent in Silk Plug-ins that causes the response to not always as fast as it should be. They work, and as proofs-of-concept, they are excellent, but don't expect to get anywhere near the speed of the original TapPad app. (By the way, I suspect that this is the very reason that there hasn't been a new version of TapPad released bec
Shameless plug: I, like a few others, "ran with it" when it first came out and we had a lot of fun creating a number of WonderSilk skins. I linked a domain called WonderSilkSkins.com (http://wondersilkskins.com) to my JimsTips.com (http://jimstips.com) site and posted a number of freely available WonderSilk Skins. Check 'em out and give 'em a try. The app was written by a Japanese developer, and a link to his site is on my site.
Have fun!

Jim, Thanks, that's the answer I was mostly looking for. I'm considering an upgrade soon, and just wondered what it could do. Am I correct in the assumption WS does not work on NR series machines?
Think I've seen some of you skins before, If you're the Jim I'm thinking of, I think that got me started playing around with skins in the first place.

Cool. Gonna hold off on my upgrade til the NX80s go to refurb, or the next gen comes out and I can't wait any longer.
