Does anyone have a recommendation for NX70 software for managing passwords ? My friend has a Pocket PC (okay, not a GOOD friend !!) and he uses:
Code Wallet Pro, by Developer One
www.developerone.com
However, they only develop for PocketPC (narrow-minded).
Thanks for any input.

Look up STRIP on Palmgear or handango. Its free, and does a more than good job. Been using it for YEARS now on several palms. Best use i on the NR70 I've got now.

Just tried it, darn you people! Now I have to buy it. :D
I have to give yet another voteto SplashID. I tried 4 different ones before I settled on SplashID. As davy19 said, it's HiRes+ which is a huge benefit, and it's desktop sync is equally impressive.

I have been very pleased with Passwords Plus. It encrypts the passwords, it is easy to use, and I use it every day on my PC and PDA.

I've been using CryptInfo - Secure Password & Information Manager for Palm & PC for a while now.
Here's my take on it.
Advantage:
-168-bit 3DES encryption
-only uses about 60K (with data file)
-The "Auto Lock" feature activates after a specified amount of time
Disadvantage:
- not hi res+
- not as visually appealling as splash id
Price: $14.99
Find it here (http://www.normsoft.com/cryptinfo/index.shtml)

I've tried/used many password programs, and Splash ID was my favorite for quite awhile. However, I tried Passwords Plus and must say that (IMO) it beats all others. It has this extreme flexibility in setting up different templates for the categories under which you choose to store info. There are dozens of ways to modify/customize each individual item entered. So if for one software registration you need to store a Nick, a Password, and a Serial No. and for another you need to store an email address for your user name, a Registration Key, and a hint question/answer, this app has you covered--you will have each item listed exactly as described. Splash ID is prettier, and is definitely functional--not a bad choice at all; I just greatly appreciate the recognition that different apps and other categories often require storing extremely diverse ID criteria.

I'm probably a little late here, but I wanted to let you know about YAPS. It is a free password safe that I have used since my Visor deluxe. It is great, although it doesn't run in Hires+, it does work well.
Here is the Product Site (http://www.msbsoftware.ch/yaps.html)
It uses 256bit Blowfish encryption.

I want this exact application on the palm: http://www.mobi-systems.com/product-info.asp?ID=46. I know that they make QuickID for the palm, but it doesn't import and doesn't have a desktop component. I really want the capability to have multiple levels of categories, but no one else seems to offer this capability. Am I missing an app that does this?

I used to use YAPS- but I switched to SplashID because of the excellent desktop app.

For the work I do (small business computer outsourcing), I need to keep track of multiple passwords per business. I have more than 16 businesses and personal information for which I need keep track and typically, you are only allowed 15 categories plus unfiled. In the apps that allow you unlimited categories, the categories are organized by information type (bank accounts, login ids, etc.) which doesn't work for me. I want to have my information organized by individual business and then the passwords for their servers, routers, etc. within each business. The only way I can do this is to have sub categories within categories. I also want to keep my personal information separate from the business information and organize it within sub-categories. Maybe I'm different from other users of password "wallets" but that's my need!!!

Check out Mobile Access (www.mobi-systems.com). I have SplashID and use that for personal stuff only. I use Mobile Access to track my client info and passwords. I think its limit on how many different tables you can have is your memory available. I'll admit the product is still in its infancy, and still has a couple things to work out and fine tune, but it has great potential.

One more for Splash ID, both for personal and work. I just got back to my desk from the server room where I stunned someone by having the master server password on hand as I was walking by! *snigger* Ahh, the poor gadget-challenged people I work with....
I vote for SplashID. I keep trying out other programs, but none of them offer the same level of customization to let you name each item in each category how you want. For instance if my category is e-mail accounts, I want it to ask me for Account Name, Username, Password, POP server, SMTP server. If I'm entering a credit card, I want it to say Card Name, Account #, Exp. Date, Security Code, PIN. Splash lets you set all those things individually, and if for some reason I wanted to call it "Super Happy Code" instead of PIN, I could. If my card is a VISA, I can use the VISA icon, if it's MasterCard, I can select a MC icon. Or if I had a third card and wanted an icon shaped like a dog, I could do that. The point is that nothing is set in stone -- there's nothing that says a credit card must have an icon that looks anything like a credit card, or that every item in that category needs the same icon. I like an app that lets me organize the way that makes the most sense in my head. Too many of these security apps are limited to standard labels for each category, or in some cases the same vague label for all categories, which gives you very little idea what information you're looking at.
I also like SplashID because it's easy on the eyes, and color coordination and icons and stuff are not just pretty, it makes it easier to find information. It also lets you define how the list view is set up and how much information you want to see.
