Seriously, all this negativity, who hates it and who likes it. I like it, but I don't agree with the price so I will vote that I hate it!!!!

I don't understand why all these supposedly loyal Sony Clie members are so against Sony making a new device that has features never before available in a PDA. This isn't the last PDA they will make. I applaud Sony for their creativity, money spent on research and developing new innovative products. Maybe it's not for you. I am so thankful that many of the cliesource members dont' work for Sony, they would stiffle all it's creativity!!!!!!

its not as though the NZ is replacing the NX series, cos its not. it just means the NX isn't the high end buyers option now.
obviously the NZ isn't right for everyone, thats why everybody has a right to choose which pda fits there needs.
i think the price matches up

Maybe that is why so many are upset. They won't have the high-end model anymore :).

I'm not in love with i nor do I hate it. I think its a mistake to make a big, $800 PDA but that's Sony decision. It doesn't effect or bother me either way. I think the general mood here is the same. I'll check out an NZ90 when they're at the stores and reserve final judgement then.

Overall I want a smaller PDA, bot a bigger one.

That's exactly what it is. For some reason, some of the people here have their ego invested in having the latest PDA.
These are the people who, even though they already had an NR-70, ran out and got the NX as soon as it was released.
These are also the same people who will abandon their NX for the NZ when the NZ is released.

If you want to invest your ego in having the high-end model of something, Sony Clies seem like an expensive thing to do that with, but I suppose investing your ego in having the latest car would be a lot more expensive.

I dont' neccessarily think it's a 'can't afford it envy' or 'latest gadget inferiority complex' thing. I don't hate the NZ-90, but I think it a complete miss on what Clie owners were expecting as the follow up to the NX series. Fair or not, the NZ is NOT what a lot of Clie fans expected or wanted and they are taking it out on the device.

I don't think it's necessarily an ego thing in most cases either. I had that syndrome when I first got into computers, but trying to keep up there quickly became futile to the point of being ridiculous.

I was one of the people who already had an NR70 before purchasing my NX70 (The turn around was so fast that I could still exchange it and pay the extra $$ :) ) The reason I switched wasn't about having the latest/greatest. (The device I had before was a palm III ) For me the features were just better, particularly that it had a better camera and runs on OS 5.

From what I've seen so far I'm not going to run out and get an NZ even though it has an even better camera, because I think it has some usability flaws. I think that the market may very well bear me out on this, in which case whatever Sony does next will be even better as usual, and hopefully rid of the problems that concern me.

It's (was) great, but when I heard of the nz90... I agree that opinions expressed are not about playa hating. Most of us like gadgets enough that if we wanted the NZ90, we'd go and buy it. For me, it's more about expressing my opinion about the frequency of Sony's "upgrades" and, aside from that, whether the NZ 90 is an upgrade that makes sense to me. The NZ 90 may be feature-rich, but the question each of us is whether these features are ones we need or desire...and at what cost? Who doesn't believe that Sony has already figured out where they went wrong with the NZ 90? My bet is the next device is going to be thinner.
