As I said before, it's not that much thicker, only 50%. A half a centimeter.
Oh doom and pain, fear and unhappiness. Oh save me from the huge NZ, I think I'll go post in the SJ forum about how small the SJ is and how I will lose it, even though I don't own nor plan to own an SJ, just because I'm bored and have nothing better to do that knock something that I secretly wish I could afford.

actually www.sony.co.jp/clie does a really good job of hiding the "fatness" with a nice flashy intro-movie....using mainly darkened and blurry "playboy" filters ;)

LOL - No truer words...
Not that they'll ever admit to it. They'll just sit around and b*tch and moan about this again and again (like they've EVER used this forum for anything other than their stand up comedy routines). NZ Fat Jokes Thread: Proof positive that simple minds really ARE the easiest to occupy
They used to bother me, now they're just boring me. Think of them as seagulls Ikaris: they swoop down - contribute NOTHING, crap all over everything and then zoom out just as quickly. :D

I love to pick on the NZ90, however I must admit Sony dares to do.
I just realized, looking at the pictures, does the Tungsten come with the guillotine the cigarette and not your finger trick?
I mean look at that design, doesn’t it look like that old guillotine the cigarette and not your finger magic toy!!!
Sony Rules, well at least most of the time.

I'm happy for the people that want this 'Fat Boy', and everything that it offers. It sure is pretty. Just overkill for me. Don't need camera, and the wireless would offer very little benefit where I spend my days. Bluetooth is the one thing I wish I had right now.
OTOH the S? line just looks cheap to me - toy quality.
The Tseries is the balance point for me. I'm worried they're phasing it out though. I thought it would be the next to be updated after the NZ.

It looks to me as if the NZ is about the thickness of the NZ, if the CF slot extended the full way. I am looking forward to handling this in person, if only to dream of what could be...

I'm sorry, but that is thick. I'll see what it's like when I get one in my hands, but those pictures clearly show a big PDA. After playing with a TT, even my NR seems big. Maybe size doesn't matter to the people who really want one, but let's not try to pretend that this thing isn't big.

Whats wrong with people making fun of it because they can't afford it. Im pissed and frustrated that I bought a 70 not to long ago granted for only 400 but it bothers me that a brand new model came out so quickly and for so much money.
So I will rag on this model day and night all I want yes because I can't afford it and yes cause im pissed. So go cry a river if it bothers you so much that someone without 800 to spend on a toilet flooder b!tches about it.

No, just the next possible release date if you apply the timeline between NX release and NZ release.... All theoretical and I'm guessing gadget lust will compromise my values (and checkbook) at some point in the 3rd or 4th week of Feb!!!

Hello to a new non-seagull,
April is a good month so is every month after that I guess. Here is a reply that I couldn't find a proper forum for.
"However, that is presumably not Sony's goal. I read that Sony was guided by three principles to success. I apologize I can only remember one of them, but it is one everybody recognizes, but doesn't always understand. That principle is innovation.
The article described that as Sony introduced The camera of the century, however, it was reported that they were already 6 months into research to make that model obsolete. The jokes about betamax . . . wouldn't you think a lesser company that invested the "end all, be all" of their technology in beta max would have folded after that long and costly battle. "
Point is, it is like trying to get the latest computer, by the time you get it there is a newer model. You just have to make a decision and commit yourself.
That is the one thing that Sony competitors have problems with. While they get the company love and support. Sony tries to out do itself and not rest on its laurels. Sony's investment (like other electronic firms) are testing, mixing and matching all the time and watch how their units sell and make the adjustment as they go. For instance Palm, which I love, had my loyalty, but as a model sat for a year, Sony in the same year has literally used it to better and refine their product.
Don't get me wrong, I will by the NZ with the full knowledge that they will do something else sometime soon after, but what can I do . . . the train isn't going to stop and if it does, not for long.

Somehow I missed the comparison of keyboards. This bumps the Z way up in the lust category for me...oh no, I can feel my temperature rising. It's....it's.....it's....technolust. Just looking at that big black beauty with all those letters around the different controls....can someone get me a napkin...HELP!

My credit card will be compromised, by what I read on here, on feb 16 or 18th. I came to the conclusion that I gotta buy it in person. I can't do the Amazon.com thing, or any of the other online retailers. Even some of the price concessions aren't enough for me, if they turn out to have a crap return policy or no ability to get me into any extended warranty.

Sign... Thin is out, thick is in... I am digging out my MessagePad...
1ISQ if you go here http://www.jp.sonystyle.com/peg/Nz90_sj33/nz90.html and click on in, it shows the nz90 being put into the charger and even shows the flap protecting the back being raised.
Also 2morrow at the same url address they are updating the section to the left with new info and hopefully some pictures seeing as I can't read japanese.
finally if you look at the bottom and click on interview, there are several pictures of a man holding the nz and you can get an idea of how big it is in someones hands. Thats it... I really am done. Sorry for the triple post :)

Hi and thanks to all who replied,.. I know I've had em all... but at the price of the nz.. It might be my last up grad for a while, and April is my birthday and usually no one knows what to get me so I get cash... then can buy either the new "one" or the nz... I'm going with gut feeling. I read so much the other day on this site, it was very helpful and that's where my decision came from... My spinning head.*!!%$# ... =^ ^=

http://news.sel.sony.com/digitalimages/images/2003/84/56/138456.jpg
It is truly huge. You'll need to scroll down. iIt has loaded but it may not look like it form the amount of shear white space.
the last picture on the japanese site is up showing connectivity w.bluetooth. It shows it connecting to a phone as well as the camera.

Ark... could you be more specific on what where on the web page you mentioned (that I think I've clicked about everything on... ) the picture you're referring to?
There's the 3-D buttons to move the NZ around, the 10 links to click on underneath the 3-D buttons, and the 4 links on the right.
I just want to make sure I don't miss any new pictures!!! :)
-chris
there are 4 pictures to the left with a little yellow border around them and under the yellow heading that says peg-nz90 and then japanese characters. They were released by the date they said today being the last one. So now we know that it can link up to blutooth enabled phones.
