View Full Version : NX73 Stylus....

I received mine from Dell few days ago.
My first impression is .... the stylus is too damn small and cheap looking! It is so out of place of the carefully designed NX series. It is easy to fall out and feels so light in your hand.
Coming from a Tungsten T (it has the best PDA stylus IMO), it is gonna be the biggest draw back for the switch... I'm still deciding whether to keep it or not... maybe I'll even get a NX70 just for the stylus...
The NX73 feels rather thick as compare to NX70... But other than that it looks great and the backlite keyboard is neat...
My question is... should I depend on better aftermarket stylus to come out soon?

Glad I'm not the only one...absolutely love my NX73 - now just over 24hrs old and still marvelling at my first Clie :) - but the only thing so far I don't like is the stylus...the way it telescopes / folds away is a nice idea to save space, but I find it annoying (1) because it has a habit of sticking as I pull it out and the stylus extends and (2) when I put the stylus into the cradle when I go to pick it back up I tend to find I knock it and it starts to "untelescope". Small complaint, but I do hope there is a better quality stylus around the corner to replace the Sony one.
first Clie and it's NX73? impressive leap! congrad! :)

My company gave this NX73V to me and I'm wondering how far one of these can go. Is there a GIS program that runs on OS 5?

I had been using a Jornada 690 for about three years, but I've also had a soft spot for the gadgets of Sony...so actually bought an SJ33 two weeks ago for my wife, realised just how much I prefered the Clie and Palm OS to my HP, and promptly went out and bought the NX73 at the weekend...now on a sharp learning curve...each time I switch it on I found something new, or end up downloading another new game/app and giving that a go!

I actually like the new stylus. Mine locks into place when I put it in, and then telescopes when I pull it out. So far it hasn't fallen out or untelescoped while it was in the unit. Maybe there's a problem with the stylus or the Clie itself? One thing I did do is get a three pack of the older Clie stylus' to use in the cradle, which has a holder on it.

Do you have to press hard on the screen for input?

I heard some ppl expereinced that problem. You will need to send in the CLIE to Sony to fix that.. that's what I have heard.
