I have a traffic ticket tracking app, it's called Traffic Lawyer 1.0. Sure it costs a bit more, but it's worth not having points on the license.

Yea, that's exactly what I was thinking. And do we really need to bring certain other topics into this thread? There is a long enough discussion about what you are referring to, utahjazz. BTW, no, I have nothing against you. I just read enough about that topic and opened this thread to get away from it, and what do you know, its here.

This has to do with another thread, if you don't know what it's about then you really shouldn't be interested at all in this point. Anyway, I think it's funny to torment jmoco5 when I am on her ignore list and I know she is clicking the "Click here to read post" button everytime I make a post, but she is too weak to reply. She didn't even have a ligit reason to ignore me, but I talked about that in another thread.

It should come with excuses to tell the officer to get you out of the ticket! Now THAT would be handy.
Officer:I pulled you over for speeding.
Driver:Um..officer sir,...um...can you give me a minute to check my Clie so I can tell you a good reason why I WASN'T speeding!

Ahem. As for this application, it's certainly one I can use. Not because I get a lot of tickets, but because I only get one rarely--about once every five years or so.
But, I do get a fair amount of warnings (once a year). So, I would really like to have a log of these occurances so that I can recall how long it's been since I'd been hassled by the man.

WOW, I know I don't make many post, but I have been around ClieSource for a while. I beleave there were only between 1000-2000 members when I joined. It's weird to watch the turns this site makes.
I remember in the beginning this was a great site, you could ask a question (no matter how foolish) and expect a respectable answer within a few minutes.
What happened?!?!?! Now you have to watch your spelling, not offend anyone, don't ask repeat question, and expect to get slammed at least once.
I visit this site daily, I enjoy hearing peoples views. But I have to ask the question...What happened to ClieSource? It seems much more like a home for a select few, wich they defend feverously, than what it was ment to be, a Clie related discussion.
Just my 2 cents...

I've also been around pretty long, but I believe ClieSource is still basically the same as it always was. A site where we can receive respectful answers to our questions about Clie related topics. Things seem to change, temporarily, when we hit news vacuums, between launches of new hardware and blockbuster apps (read launchers). And unfortunately, we also periodically get participants that seem intent on agitating or belittleing others, perhaps because of their own self-image issues. I appologize for this off-topic post in this thread, just seemed the appropriate place for it.

If you are going to ignore me for what happens in an off topic thread or something off the subject of the CLIE then you really shouldn't be here for the CLIE now should you? That's pathetic, it only shows a sign of weakness. I could ignore a whole crapload of people but I don't get offended at every little thing and I won't ignore someone just because they insulted me in off topic on a Clie Site. Give me a break and grow up.
Jmoco, I know you are reading my messages, lol that's pathetic it's like on 2020 where they try to interview the stupid person and he runs away with no comment. Weak ***...
And you haven't been here long at all. August 2002? You are still a newbie and I would be pretty irate if I were not a newbie. AS far as I consider it, you have to be here 1 year before you become a veteran.

nah - the beauty of it would be that it looks like a Clie with just a little radar detector sticking out of the top like the camera MS. You woudn't have to worry about those places where detectors are illegal :)

Just combine them all into one super application. You have a radar/laser detector MS that displays the information on one screen. If you do get pulled over you select the excuses screen. Hopefully that gets you just a warning, but if not then on another screen you could enter the ticket information.
A future improvement would require a upgrade to the IR emitter to allow it to act as a laser jammer.

How about a memory eraser thing, like in Men In Black? If all else fails, you point it at the cop, and zamoooo!!!...instead of giving you a ticket, he's escorting you to your next stop!

You have to be careful with that one once devices start talking to one and other. Since it could detect you are over the local legal limit, use BT to connect to your phone and call the cops on you. Course if it was a nice app it would disable your car and call a cab for you.

Actually, I'm not too sure that providing polite answers to foolish questions is really beneficial to the community. When a child asks why the sky is blue, do you go into all the details about refraction, or do you just say that God made it that way?

Well, that will happen with any discussion forum when it gets to some critical number of participants. You have to apply your own personal filter and simply ignore the problem posters.

I'd tell my 9 year old the latter, but my 6 y-o already KNOWS about refracted light....heh (That's why he's starting at the TAG program at UVa on Sat)

Well, that will happen with any discussion forum when it gets to some critical number of participants. You have to apply your own personal filter and simply ignore the problem posters. Well, I think that generally, since 'Black Monday', most people are pretty gentle with 'repeat questions' because there is no longer a huge database available to search. I do get people who PM me rather than ask 'out loud' too . . . and I'm cool with that. I've learned a LOT hanging out in these forums, and usually try to dissiminate information I've acquired.
