Yeah, my NX70V's LCD shattered unexpectedly today - perfect timing though ^_^ But three local Best Buy stores here don't have either the NX73 or the NX80 yet - they're usually the last -_-

I got my NX60 at CompUSA and got the extended warranty there. They cover EVERYTHING but loss or theft. I took my SJ33 in there a few months ago, used my warranty, and needed no excuse or reason to use it. I happily and easily pricematched and exchanged my SJ33 for my now beloved NX60, of which were the same price, excluding buying a new warranty.

My NX60 had a line going down the left side of the screen and I upgraded to an NX70V.

bb does not cover broken/crakced screen. if you have another kind of screen issue in the display, that is different.

My salesgal told me broken glass on the screen is not covered.....HOWEVER!!! if my unit is sitting in the car and something happens, or if the display gets all wackey....thats covered.

Which is the problem with mine - not broken glass. The outer layer of the screen is perfectly fine - its just the pixels that are all messed up. Anyway - I'm hoping my Best Buys will get some NX80s soon.

I checked Seattle (actually Tukwila) yesterday in both CompUSA and Best Buy...nothing! In addition, the NX70's are still at $399!!!

No one knew what I was talking about...CompUSA said the only thing they showed coming out soon was a new universal case by Sony for $69.99! At that, I showed him my Bellagio, said, "I don't think so..." and walked out...

The Best Buy's in my Region. (Most of Illinois) will be recieving them pretty soon. I checked the Best Buy database and our warehouse has several hundred of them, and several stores should receive them on their next truck. So for those of you that live in Illinois thats the scoop on the nx80. The nx73 hasnt even gotten to our warehouses yet.

Did you notice how chewed the 'open box specials' were at BB? I can't IMAGINE buying one of those units...

As for the sales people not knowing, I was at Fry's in Oregon on June 28th. I asked the guy in PDA's if they had the new Clie NX73 or 80 in yet. He said no, BUT I FOUND THE NX73 ON DISPLAY!!!

Most of the sales people in these stores just punch a clock, they don't know JACK! (MUINTO apologies to you sales people who actually KNOW what you're doing...)

When I got my NX70 last october when it just came out, only reason I knew they had them was online it said it had in store to be picked up.

So I went down there and they had none on display, none even knew what i was tlaking about until i finally got a manager and he said oh yeah they are there down below someone was supoose to put up a display model.

So my guess is a lot of BB out there have them somewhere in a supply room or locked up and workers dont know or dont care to know.

Yea, I was lucky to have read the posts from you guys here.

Otherwise I never would have asked my buddy to check the Sunday shipment which he kindly did.

He left me a message Sunday evening to say it had arrived, but when I went to BB to go pick it up I was concerned that they had sold out already, but to my surprise they were hidden away with no display or anything.

The employees atleast knew they were in and exactly where they were located, but if it wasn't for CS, I never would have known that they were available.

Our BB has been redesigned inside - and they shrank the whole PDA section.  Not only is it smaller, it is crappier.  They spent all this money to show off  PCs, games and cameras - they set up 'booth' so that you can hold, play and try them out.   Any handhelds out there - Nooooooooooo!.

 

The PDA area has some old beat up NX70's on display, as well as some SJ series units, and an open box N710 [!!!].   Oh - and there is the NZ in the corner strapped down so tight you can't  really even try it.     Nothing here to inspire a new customer to buy something.

boomer, could have been describing the BB I bought min from yesterday!

Like you said, but only one beat up old nx70 and at great price, but I wouldn't touch it and 1 nz strapped down in the corner and the whole display is dotted with many empty spaces

It look like crap!

That's why I was sort of skeptical about them even having a nx80 hidden behind their shelves.

The BB I went to didn't even have an NZ90...but who knows what is hidden. I sure wish they would at least discount some of these junky looking pda's

The NZ90 is listed as an "at risk" item, BB will not be caring it very much longer.. so those of you who want one, can prolly make a deal and get one cheap.

Then they said they only had the display model which wasn't supposed to be out yet...I finally told them Circuit City was selling them and the salesperson went somewhere, came back, and got in the cupboard and handed me an NX80 :P

I worked this morning rearranging the Circuit City I'm at, and we got two NX80's on the truck, but they arn't unloaded yet. With the store remodeling, there isn't a real place to put PDA's right now, so it may be a couple days before they make it onto the floor.

NZs are a high theft Item according to two BBs I've been to lately, that's why the strap down. The NZ is on sale on the web site for $599, a really good deal that is, of course big mark downs like that also always precede a new or replacement model coming out. Cross fingers.

Well I tracked down and purchased an NX80 at the one of the Cincinnati area Best Buy stores today. They had 2 more plus the display and the employees didnt even know they had them, let alone know anything about them. Anyway if you are near Cincinnati, the Tri-County location has 2 more and the Fields-Ertl location has 3 (at least according to the computer from Tri-County).

I really like everything I have seen so far. I played around with the display one for quite a while. Of course, it is all new to me as I am upgrading from a IIIc.

So, now I guess I have about 4 hours to search through here and find out the best way to transfer all my data from the IIIc to the NX-80. I need to transfer my contacts and notes. Also, I use Strip to store all my passwords and important info in, so I need to see if I can transfer that or if I should upgrade to a better program. Any advise obviously will be appreciated!

I am a tech for best buy, and former customer service sup. Unless you get a blithering idiot technician they will notice a brken screen, and will not honor it under the warranty, it is explicitly stated in the warranty pamphlet that damage to lcd's is not covered

Amazing- I've repeatedly spoken to Best Buy reps at 2 LA stores over the past few days and they've ALL been unanimous in saying, "we're NOT expecting any for another month!" Undeterred, I decided to call yet again this afternoon, and was ecstatic to hear that they just had receievd 10 of them. Absolutely amazing!! In any case, I've finally purchased mine and I'm glad to announce no screen issues as of this writing. Though oddly, my stylus doest seem to snap into position when not in use. Any one else have this problem or is this what it's all about?? BTW, I upgraded from the NX70V for the camera, as I deal with real estate. As a comparrison, this camera rocks- pleasantly surprised what 1.3mega pixels can accomplish in ideal situations. Thanks for listening and thanks for ALL the useful comments. This site is by far the most informative I've come across. :)
