Anyone have a clue how I can take an MPEG and put it on a memory stick and be able to view it view via MoviePlayer ?
I mostly use a Mac with MissingSync - so using Image Converter is VERY inconvenient.
I noticed that at the top of MoviePlayer you can switch between MoviePlayer files and MPEG files........... buuuuuttttttttt
I put an MPEG on my memstick and it is not seeing it. I even tried to put the MPEG in specific directories where Sony cameras would normally store MPEGs..... also tried MQROOT....... still not seeing it

Movie Player can only play MPEG1 files. You have to put them in the /MSSONY/MOML0001 directory, and they must be in this format: MOV00002.MPG. Everything must be capitalized and there must be 5 digits after MOV.

That did it - the part I was missing was that everything needed to be in CAPS and the MSSONY dir was at the root instead of under /PALM/PROGRAMS
Thanks !

I wanted to try out the Movie Player application and did the MS Export/Import thing, using one the sample files located in the Movie Sample folder. I had to enter the destination folder because it did not recognize the file extension. I created the /MSSONY/MOML0001, but when I opened MoviePlayer and switched to the MPEG files it still did not see it. So now I understand that I have to rename the file, Dolphin.mpg to the MOV00002.MPG format.
What I would like to know is why do they include 2 files in the Movie Sample directory, dog.mpg and dolphins.mpg, that can't be viewed unless they are renamed? Or at least state in their manual that they have to be renamed.
I have a Sony Camcorder and a Sony Memory Stick Reader/Writer. Can I use the Reader/Writer to copy and or delete the files in the Memory Stick that I use with the Clie, like I do with the Camcorder's MS, instead of the MS Export/Import?

The reason they included the files without instructions on renaming them is because they probably assumed you would use the Image Convertor app to put the movies on your Clie. This is the best route since the file sizes are much smaller, but doesn't work if you are not using Windows.
