All right.

From here (forum), I mouted my LinkSys Wireless networking and Internet sharing via the router.

My router: Linksys Wireless Access Point Router with 4-Port Switch - Version 4
                   Model: BEFW11S4 -                                                      802.11b

So, I put it all to work, I can configure it via the Web-based contro panel, and i can acess the internet cable connection via wire and wireless modes.

BUT, the connection isn't fast as uded to bem, I mean, the response time.

and THE MAIN ISSUE:

Suppose that I start a 10 MB file downloading, and it reaches the maximum speed, suddenly, the internet connection just STOPs that downloading, lowering the download speed progressive to 0.0 kbps.

But any other internet tasks will function perferctly.

IŽve noticed that on FTP passive connections, sometimes the other site does no accept them.

I have a dynamic IP (chages in two weeks or so), and the setting of the router is by DHCP. And my computer use a router ip, fake...

Anyone ?

Cheers, pals and mates !

What internet provider are you using? I currently have Earthlink DSL and they admitted to me that they "throttle" the bandwidth from time to time which gave me the problem you describe. Since my discussion with Earthlink regarding the issue, I have not had the problem you describe.

Other than the ISP, I don't have an answer for him either. He also posted something similar on 06/24/03 too. No big deal, I just searched back knowing I had seen it once before.

The times that I had similar trouble with downloads, the problem was with getting CRC errors. I found that the phone company had one of their T1 carrier lines set to the wrong line coding.

Since at that time I had been employed by the phone company, I found the problem in the next town's switch office where my Dial-up ISP was located. All it required was a software change at the other end, to change the line coding from AMI to B8ZS.

Yes Larry, similar...

But now I have all the network properly configured.

So, I think that is any of the configs beetween the IP of the machine and the router.

IŽll try to get some information of my ISP.

But.. if someone knows about IP and such.. drop a line !

Cheers!

Have you tried bypassing all that and go direct to verify? Usually, if something was amiss, it wouldn't work at all.
