Hello all

ive got the NX70V and just recently my msimport has started to play up. I press connect and it says connects to the pc (XP) and the pc recognises it but if i try to use Ms export it just says there are no memory sticks connected. Also i tried going through My computer and lookin at the stick manually but it comes up with a error message when i click on it. I have no idea why its just started doing this. It was working fine for the last 4 months but suddenly bam !! it doesnt work. So annoyin... part from that i love the machine. any ideas to fix this problem would be appreciated.
PS hotsync works fine.
thanks
chris

Since you get an error message you might want to try posting it. You also don't go to a garage and say that your car is broken, but you don't mention the actual problem.

If it helps (if not post that error you saw), I hit a problem with my MS Export the other day, it was caused by my getting too relaxed changing memory sticks and doing so at a bad time for the poor clie. Hotsync continued to work, just MS export that went west.

It turned out I'd upset the driver on the PC, a reboot did the trick.

You have to initiate MS Import on the Clie first and use it as an external disk drive in Windows Explorer file manager, on my machine it now shows up as Drive "N", yes I have that many devices with drive letters assigned :).

Why are you using MS Export?? I never use and never found any real use for it!

What does it do? Is it as lame as it looks? It appears to me to only offer the same or less than a standard file explorer as it only seems to work when Import is running on the Clie.

Right, lame is a very good word for it :(. I use Power Desk 5.0 as my file manager in Windows XP, but I have been using that for years. The MS Import SCSI driver is supplied by MS Export when it's installed on the PC, otherwise I woud never have installed it.
