I am new to this forum, and fairly new to the Clie, and would appreciate some help and hopefully a solution to my problem.
I am at the moment living in the U.K. I purchased an NZ 90 in the U.S. (because the prices here are outrageous), and am trying to use email on my Clie to check a POP3 account via a Bluetooth connection with my T68i (bought in the U.K), with Clie mail. Both devices are paired, and I can send and receive mail with no problem through the phone. I also have a connection manager that has put the correct settings for my phone in the Clie for GPRS.
The problem is, I can send my mail from the Clie through the phone, but I cannot receive mail from my POP3 account. I get an error message saying "check POP server and port". The Clie after sending a mail with Clie Mail also tries to Sync rather than receive. I presume it's trying to sync with my PC. I have also downloaded and installed a trial version of Snappermail, and am getting the same error. I can send, but not receive. I am totally baffled by this, as I know the settings are correct. If they weren't, I wouldn't be able to send and receive through the phone. I don't know if the problem is with the ISP I get my POP mail through, or if the problem is because I'm trying to send and receive using GPRS, or both, or something else? Or is there a setting in the Clie that I'm missing?
I have tried contacting Sony tech support in the U.K., but they won't give me support because I bought the Clie in the U.S. So much for being a global company. The support on their websites, both U.S. and U.K is also useless. Their Knowledge Databases hardly acknowledge the existence of the NZ 90.
I would greatly appreciate any help anyone can give me.
