Right know I have an SJ-33, it was the replacement for my Palm M500.

This dream clie is based on my SJ-33 so everything I don't mention is because I already like how it is.

*320 x 480 screen NOT Clamshell design (I haven't own a clamshell clie yet but I've tried them and are too big for me)
*200 mhz processor
*A power button (like in the t665), I hate powering my pda with the little switch.
*OS 5
*32 to 64 Mb Ram (I know it's hard to fill that with apps, but I have PictureGear loaded with at least 70 pictures. I currently have 400 mb on memory sticks but they are better off inside of my F707 camera. I want memory built in.
*Better battery life. So far sony batteries are really good, the problem is if you travel and want to play bejewled+listen to mp3's on the same trip. I hate carrying AC adapters.
*Same cover as in my sj33 but I want to be able to flip it all the way to the back of the unit (Don't know how the speaker will sound though) TG-50 metal finish would be greatly apreciated, I hate fingertips on my sj33 and as for the cover being transparent I hardly use that.
*5-way navigator + jogdial. I think sony wants to get more money from us by selling the game-pad. Sony I won't buy it, I'll rather pay you $15 extra for better designed buttons and the 5 way nav.
*I'm not sure if I want a craddle or just a cable (like the sj33), but whatever comes inside the package must have a sync button. Sounds a bit logic to me, trust me I have loads of hacks configuring my hard/silk buttons, but a one-touch hotsync is a must have for people whot hotsync like me at least 3-5 times a day. Yes, I like to have fresh avantgo content and try new applications everytime I brush my teeth. (3 times a day)
*Optional bluetooth: SG-55 no bluetooth, Sj-75 bluetooth built in.

Extra ideas I know that won't be on a clie this christmas but I would love to see in the future. Let's call this the sci-fi part of this thread.
* 2 extra hardware buttons (fully configurable) They could be anywhere and also small since I only need them to launch apps.
* Touch-sensitive buttons like the I-Pod. Sexy
* Wireless headphones for mp3 player. I owned a Sony walkman 5 years ago and it had that function and it worked great.
* Custom laser engraving option (again like the IPOD)

Please don't post comments asking me if I want my CLIE to be able to make coffee too, I'll rather hear what your expectations/dreams for this christmas are. NZ/NX/NR lovers feel free to dream on my thread too, I just donīt want clamshell for me...

Depending on the quality and extra things this pda would have a 250-350 price tag would be perfect.

Most of this has been already hashed out in previous threads. Everyone has a different idea what a perfect PDA should be. Personally, I love the clamshell design, but many are clamoring for the T series form factor.

BTW, 64MB isn't hard to fill up at all with apps. I think one encyclopedia was 105MB in size alone.

My avatar shows Sony waving some sort of clamshell design already.

Most of what users get eleswhere, is dictated by those in Japan.

You mean the TG50? That's already out.

I think you missed the very first feature biblord wants in a dream Clie:

>>>> *320 x 480 screen NOT Clamshell design

(not to mention a significant percentage of the people on this site ) It's just worth repeating, since Sony apparently monitors this website, and SOME company is eventually going to do it. :)

If only Garmin would release a version of their PDA without GPS, but with built in WiFi...

I've seen the picture of the sony executive showing the prototype clie. That would be a clamshell pda design just for me (small enough), and if you look in the picture, No buttons!!!(at least on the frontside) , maybe sony is actually removing hardware buttons and using a new technology it has being rumored to be developing: http://www.theinquirer.net/default.aspx?article=9991

As for the screen in my dream pda, It could be landscape oriented, that would be nice.

I would like more than 64 mb built in (I could always store more pics or the same ones just with a higher resolution), but I just can't expect sony to jump From 16 mb to 64 on this year, even the new NX80V has only 32MB of RAM.

I know there are tons of threads about dream pda's. Since technology changes everyday, I would never get tired of thinking what new clies should have. And I think that someone building pdas reads this forums, it would be stupid from Sony not to do so, we are the ones who buy their pdas. As Bionic Antboy says, If Sony is not reading this forums someone else could be...

One last thing. What about Sony letting you customize your clie online (more Sci-fi probably), I think the market is already big enough for pda makers to start doing this. If it is done everyday with Laptops and Desktops I think it cretainly could be done with Pdas. Don't think I want to be able to customize everything, maybe the memory amount, processor and bluetooth or wi/fi would be enough for the moment. I guess that there's always a nearly perfect clie out there for us, if we could only have more ram inside or a higher processor.

I wasn't replying to biblords thread at all. I was replying to N2IFP.
