View Full Version : Program that shows signal strength?

Is there any program taht shows teh IP of my nx when its hooked with with an AP, and shows its signal strenght, etc???? i know the tungsten C has a bulit in app for that...... but is there any third party app that does the same thing???? thanks!!

I have seen nothing for signal strength that was usable on the Clie.

If you go into wireless prefs in in the Clie. Use the pull down menu and look at the network log. There is several utilities you can use, such as ping. Type a question mark? for a list of things.

hey thanks for the info...

i troend typing the "?" in the log, but nth shows up next to the ping. hmm...

I forgot to mention that you have to be connected to something to use it. Additionally it will automatically show the IP and DNS addresses.

i connected mine to my Linksys wireless router BEFW11S4... and i only see the ip and dns address..... everything else is blank..... oh well i don't care as long as it works and its fast! ;)

You have to hit enter after typing the question mark under view log and it will list 4 or 5 things you can do :)

btw what AP do you use larry?? hows your wl100 in terms of signal and speed??

I have a Linksys WAP11 tied into my 4 port Ethernet (wired) Linksys router. The signal is excellent and speed is not bad for a Clie. The WL100 also worked well in my laptop, better than my Belkin and Linksys cards!
