Need some help please.

Hi guys, new to the forum, I have 2 questions that you may be able to help with:

1) after installing and using Zlauncher, I keep getting the following error when I hotsync:

"HotSyc operation was interupted. Some of your data was NOT backed up. For details tap HotSync Log on the HotSync screen."

Um, I've installed the following and moved them ALL to the MS.
- Epocrates
- Eponyms
- ICUmath
- MedCalc
- MedMath
- MedRules
- MobileMicroMedics
- Tarascon
(bunch of reference programs)
- Vexxed
- Due Yesterday
- Graffiti Anywhere
- Jack Flash
- Net Font

Any idea where the problem is or if there are issues with any of these or how I can find out?


2) What backup utility do you recommend and does it back up my memory stick also? ... If so does it back up to my desktop?


Thanks in advance for any imput you can provide. I just got my TG50 this weekend.

It would be easier to help if you cut and pasted a copy of your hotsync log...

So it looks like tarascon has some kind of error? When I installed, I chose the install to MS option. Is anyone else running it from MS and if so, are you having the same error? Any ideas how I can get around it?



Secondly, question about backups? What do you guys use/recommend and does it back up everything (including MS)? Thanks again.

Agreed. I use ZL and many of the same apps and have no problem.


Regarding your backup question..... BackUpBuddy VFS is hands down the best backup utility I have ever used.

Every 2am (scheduled) I backup to MS, and I know I can always restore from MS wherever I am. Highly recommend! BBuddyVFS does NOT backup to PC (hotsync does that), only to MS. As Murphy's law predicts, when you have a fatal error you will be far from your computer... but your MS is always there.

If by Tarascon you mean the drug db, I have only had it run from the internal memory that i recall though its been several months since ive had it installed. Have you tried removing it and then hotsyncing?

hmmm, to uninstall apps in palm devices, do you simply delete them? or is there an uninstall program/process that you can go through that would be more complete?








Oh and according to BackUpBuddy's site, it says its not compatible with os5?

Usually you can simply delete them. Sometimes, they leave files behind which annoyingly take up space. I often use the program filez to scan through my clie. I've heard backupbuddy isnt os5 compat but haven't ever tried it. I think there is a backup program thread under the general category. Hope this helps.
