MS Export-Import problem

Hi all,
Novice PDA user and new to the forum.
Am unable to establish connection between my T615 and pc (Win ME) on Ms Export and MS Import. MS Import screen on device shows 'Check connection with host'. In MS Export box on pc when I click on 'Memory Stick Drive' I get the message 'No Memory Stick or No Drive'.
I have a functioning memory stick in the device. No problem with hotsync operation which works fine everytime and using the Install Tool on the Palm Desktop too is alright.
Any help on this would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks Dan. Am not too technical yet to do everything in there on my own but perhaps with it as a guide and a helping hand to assist I hope to get the problem resolved. Kind rgds. Gibson.
