Sony CF Drivers WORK on DUAL MS!!!!!

Hey guys... this is incredible, but I somehow (not sure exactly how) got it to work. At first i had the Eruware's driver... and for a time, it was good (anyone saw Animatrix ;) )... then, i installed the patched Sony Driver (from NX73) with the 3-bit patch posted on the other thread.  Using filez, i disabeled Eruware's driver, and did a soft reset... just as instructed.  After a couple of resets, and after inserting/removing cards several times... i went into AudioPlayer, and voilá... all the MP3's from the CF card were there... so i tought i had re-enabeled Eruware's driver... i tought it was weird, but i checked, and no!!!!!... it was sony driver the one who was active.

After this, i went into Eruware's CF Utility, and i discovered DualMS Mode was checked, and the info about the card was displayed.

My guess is, that CF Utility can trick the 'Banned Apps' because Eruware's driver is still there... it's just not the one being used by the system... hence, making it possible for Audio Player and all other apps work with the CF card.  BTW, I haven't tried cammera or movie recorder yet, I'll post when i try them.

As i said, i don't know what the exact procedure is, but someone could manage to try the resets, or inserting and removing cards untill this works... and share the experience... the important thing so far is... that it works. :D:D:D:D

By the time it is now... i might be the only one searching the forums, but I'm so exited about this finding, that i have to share with someone...

The CF cards seems to be the first mounted card no matter how i extract / reinsert the cards, so AudioPlayer reads from the CF card

The camera app works, but saves to MS

The Movie Recorder works, ut saves to MS and gives an error after recording; the file is stored as a TMP file.. after renaming, it works fine

Clie Viewer sees files on both cards, and plays videos off both as well

HQ videos work like charm.  I have four animatrix videos on the CF card, and they play smoth...

Voice recorder writes to MS flawlessly

Well, I think the sony drivers don't work at all with the Eruware drivers. The Dual MS-feature is designed to use the CF card and MS at the same time.
First remove MS, activate dual ms, mount CF, turn off clie, reinstert MS and voilà, both medias are recognized and are mounted. So I can listen to MP3s from CF while reading with RepliGo stored on the MS with PowerRun.

So, the original sony drivers have nothing to do at all with this...

Quetsch, why you need to use "trick" mode method in Dual MS? Dual MS can work w/o turn off clie. You just need to mount CF and MS in your sequence to make AudioPlayer, MoviePlayer to show CF or MS files. "Trick" mode is only for MS Cloaking.

ccelada, actually if Eruware driver isn't enabled (mount cards), it does nothing. And I think you should read other posts that patched Sony driver need MSPro patch to make AudioPlayer works. If you tried to mount CF in Eruware driver during Sony driver is running, you will get hang result. I think the tittle is a little bit confusing...

dual MS from Eruware has nothing relative to NX73 CF Driver. The NX73 patched file works similar to the dual mode found in Eruware's driver. I think that's what you were implying right? :D
You're thrilled that this patch actually works, giving you similar results that of the Eruware driver, yes, I've tried it out myself too. It's neat isn't it? :p
But without the Eruware driver, there's a downside, you can't manage to have your CF inserted, yet not active. (Meaning you don't have control over WHEN you want to use the CF & WHEN you don't want to, thus you'd have to actually take out the CF Card just to preserve battery.) & you'd have to take your CF out of the Slot & re-insert it everytime after soft-reset. Much like the "trick mode" where you had to turn off your CLIE then re-insert the MS, then turn back ON your Clie to get everything back up & working.

After this, i went into Eruware's CF Utility, and i discovered DualMS Mode was checked, and the info about the card was displayed.
Yes, it might seem like the Eruware Driver is still actively working, but actually it has been disabled already, by changing the libs to libx. While using the NX73 Driver, have you actually tried going into Eruware's Utility to tap on any of the functions? Unmount Card, Driver version, or the user info? It would have a prompt "Registration Incorrect".

Oh, one last thing, have you noticed that CLIE prompts "Battery Low" much quicker? Even though 30% of the battery remains, you'd be blocked from accessing the CF card unless you recharge? much like the WiFi card from Sony.
With Eruware's driver, CLIE sees the CF virtually as another MS, therefore you can use your CF even when battery is below 20%.
No to rag on you here, just thought you might want to know abou these issues. That's why I'm sticking with Eruware for many reasons which I've mentioned above already. Whatever serves you happy! :D
