Couple months ago when in the market for a new computer I had went to my local Fry's Electronics and was comparing all the desktops side by side. The Sony Vaio PCV-W20 caught my attention for it compactness and wide screen, plus I noticed it had a built in MS slot. So I pulled my MSPro 512MB stick out of my NZ90 and placed it into the slot. Lo and behold it read it, I bought it that day.

Having two MS readers that don't work with the MSPro annoys me with Sony but I believe the PC driver is what will make this possible even with the older readers. Unfortunately Sony probably won't release any new drivers for us so we all have to upgrade.

Do your research to ensure whatever adapter you purchase is MSPro compatible or you'll waste your money.

hm that kinda sucks .. I mean I can use CF cards in the same pcmcia reader regardless of manufacturer or size .. ..
but okey CF is another technology ..

Yes I agree.

I have two readers that are useless with MSPro. One is a 6 In 1 Card Reader/Writer - Compact Flash, MicroDrive, Smart Media, Multimedia, Secure Digital, and Memory Stick (not MSPro) that I use quite extensively with my CF and standard Memory Sticks.

But were not for my new Vaio system I would have to go through the pain of MS Import or HotSync. That takes to long so I am glad to have picked up the Vaio. Forget about copying files back and forth from the MSPro (512mb) & CF (SanDisk 1Gig) while in my NZ90, that is so painfully slow that I NEVER use that to move files. Easier and faster to put them into my desktop.

If Sony did not put out such high quality electronics NOONE would put up with these incompatibility issues. But I enjoy and thoroughly take advantage of the advanced equipoment Sony puts out so am stuck with it if going to continue to buy Sony electronics.
