Yes, there should be an option to make it sticky.

This may be a stupid question.............What do you mean by sticky?

In this case "automount" would stay on/checked no matter what.

ie: survive resets

At least thats how I understood the question. :)

you say there should be an 'option' to make it sticky... but i think it should be sticky itself (without the option not to make it)... why?... becouse otherwise, that option (the one to make it sticky) should be sticky too, or you would loose the setting after a couple of soft resets... did i make sense? (o, como diriamos en español... solo cantinflié?) :)

I think this poll should be sticky. Wait, I'll post a poll to make the sticy mount poll sticy...but then that poll would have to be sticky so everyone could see it to determine if they wanted the sticy mount poll sticky...sigh...I need a shower now.

Yes, I think it should be sticky and the driver should also allow for auto activation after a count down like TealMaster or a pop up to activate or not after the reset. It's a hassle when I sometimes soft reset and forgot to mount driver and only realise it when looking for data in CF or when transfering thorugh File Manager.

But then Dual Mode would no longer be useful as it utilizes [bManual Mount[/b] right? :p

Yea ccelada, I you do make sense.

Other than  Eddie's reasoning from the above post, I can't think of one reason that I wouldn't want to make "automont" sticky without an option.

Well, i actually use Dual Mode with Auto Mount, and it perfectly works, so i don't see the problem.  In fact, the combination is perfect, because after checking both AutoMount and DualMode, you only need to remove / insert the cards in the proper order to use one or the other, so you can have, for instance, music on both the CF and the MS, and change "Album" by removing the cards, and then inserting them again.

I think the original intent was not to as a failsafe. Not getting into a loop that can't be broken without a hard reset. Just my opinion :)

Larry, I believe you are correct. That was the original intent, and maybe the betas should still not be sticky, but once released, they really should become sticky. I'd be willing to take the chance of a hard reset. Any time you're working with new drivers, you need to have your data backed up anyway. I've experienced a couple of hard resets and was back up and running within a few minutes.

I don't use automount, so I think I am the only one vote no

That is correct. I had asked this of the developer when the driver was first released. However, Tealmaster does a nice job of  recovering from a reset. You have a few options. It will prompt you if you would like to re-enable (Manual) or you can set an auto re-enable after a timeout of a 1 to 5 seconds (You select how long). Works great. Maybe something like that should be implemented.

I don't use automount either. But I like having the option to.

Like the guy in the simpsons said, "But I want to take a chance!" I have BackupBuddyVFS so I'm not afraid of a hard reset.

To you and to Fireman, I am not against it being sticky and I whole-heartedly agree that it should be. Originally it was a good idea until people got use to it :)
