What have you done so far since your got your Clie. Have you put the CD in your PC and installed the drivers for the device? When you put the Clie in the cradle, did you get the message "Found New Hardware"?

Thanks for the speedy reply! No, I did not get the message found new device. I just uninstalled everything and re-instaled, am about to try it agin now, please feel free to IM me or email me. If this doesn't work,. I give up. I am sure it is some minor thing. My email is" bhar184071@aol.com. I also wis that Sony had a way to purchase their "application manual" it might help, I find it impossible to go back & forth on the on-screen manual if you know what I mean.

OK, I re-installed the software, I noticed that the drivers were now installed - but, when I went to record & transfer a cd I got this message: "Cannot transfer device is full". I have no idea why I got that message as I have never used the memory stick until now. Any ideas?

Yes, it hot syncs fine, but simply get that error message that the device s full! It can't be as I just got it and the memory stick is new.

ok, lets not worry about the memory stick at the moment cuz everything is still new and supposedly not used as yet.
i doubt you have even installed anything such as programs. at this stage im assuming tha you want to sync your critical data such as appointments, addresses etc. this data will not take up much ram.
take out the stick and put it aside. next a hard reset on your clie to wipe everything off it. that way you ensure that your clie has all the memory available.
next do a hotsync. your pc will ask for the user. click on the user you originally created if your happy with that or set up a new one to start over.
then continue on with the hotsync. that should work fine. if this solves your problem then insert the memory stick and check how much free space you have on that and go from there.
i hope this info helps.

Have you installed MS Export on your PC? This app will also install the drivers needed to mount the Memory Stick as a removable hard drive on your PC.

You either have the memory stick's write protect switched to ON or you have a corrupted memory stick. Either one can give you a memory full error.

So what do I do? I assume the grey stick is in the "NON LOCKED Position" i.e. : it is totally grey "position does not show the red indicator" what is locked and what is not locked! That may be my problem! All I can say now is memory stick indicates all GRAY

Red would be locked/write protected. What kind of memory stick are you using? If it is a MS Pro stick, did you install the MS Pro driver? If the stick is corrupt, I have seen where it will won't report it's correct size. Best bet would be to reformat it. What does Clie files show for free MS memory?
