I've purchased digicams from U-Bid in the past and been pleased with the price and service.

My attitude about refurbs, if done properly and either in the factory or by an authorized factory service center, is that it's probably BETTER than new, because whatever was GOING to go wrong already HAS and has been FIXED.

In many instances, there was never anything wrong with the "refurbished" item in the first place; it was simply a customer return (for whatever reason), and there wasn't anything wrong, but it can't be sold as new...

Others may dispute this, but this has been my experience.

I just always had the nightmare, that I'll buy a "refurbished" unit, that was broken, and fixed, and then the problem (whatever it was) will come back. I guess not. Ok thx 4 the info guys.

I'm refurbished fan as well. Especially Ubid seems to be good at their service. I'm saying this based on my experience of buying digicams and monitor from Ubid. I never tried Palm. However, if you dont like it, return it. they have return policy.

Another quick question that is related to "refurbished units".
Do refurbished units void the original warranty (from Sony)?
Also, if a refurbished unit voids the original warranty (from Sony) or is out of the warranty period, then what warranty is given by the dealer?

with a refurbished unit you get a 90 day warranty. And when you register your product you get a full year warranty from the day of purchase

I got my nx70v from ubid (mfg. refurb) about 4 months ago and have had zero problems with it. The price, after shipping, was $330 and it came in a Sony brown box with everything inside sealed. Manufacturer refurbished equipment, when it comes from a big company like Sony, is the kind of deal I am always looking for. However, I am not sure that I would trust a unit that has been refurbed by a company that did not originally manufacture it. Some of the items on Ubid are like that.
