Besides the page too large problem that was discussed to death in different threads, I also get the following error whenever I exit Netfront:

MemoryMgr.c, Line:3675, Invalid chunk ptr

after which I must soft reset. Anyone else getting this? Any solutions?

Am I really the only one getting this error?!?

Ehm no, but what do you want us to say? Apparently there is a bug in NetFront. I doubt there is a workaround. Just reset and it works fine again (well as fine as it did before) Do you get them that often? I a crash like that maybe once a week (and I use it every day) So I don't care that much really. The Clie reboots quickly anyway.

I have to say that the amount of resets needed is starting to get annoying though. So many programs crash these days. Programs get more complex every year, but the penalty apparently is that the bugs start to creep in more and more too.

Thanks Patrick,
I didn't mean to be pushy. It's just that I get this error every single time!

Oh wow. Yeah, that would be really annoying. Maybe it's in the way that you close NetFront? You could try a soft reset. Sometimes I get some errors too and then I do a soft reset and it works fine again. Somehow the reset you get when clicking the reset button you get on an error doesn;t do the same thing as a standalone soft reset. (Or I'm just dreaming and it was a coincidence, but it's worth a try)

What are you using to launch NetFront? Sounds like it's trying to update a file and it can't when you exit the app.

Do you have it installed in flashROM? I got this message after quitting SplashPhoto. The program is stored in flashROM (using JackFlash). Apparently (as one might expect), some apps don't like to be placed there. Moving it out solved the problem.

Netfront is on the MS (through ZL).
I launch it from ZL.
Soft reset doesn't help.

I'll try to move it back to RAM and see if that fixes it (not that it would solve the problem since I really want Netfront on the MS).

Update

So I moved it back to RAM and everything worked fine. I then moved it back to MS, this time using PowerRUN. The first time I tried to run it I got a Fatal Exception; but after a soft reset, everything works fine now.

Hmmm, I thought I didn't need PowerRUN anymore...

Hmmm is right. Thumbs up to PowerRUN! Wonder what the soft reset did to fix things...

I have NetFront in RAM and I get that error too now and then.

It did work for a while when launched from MS with ZL? Maybe you can report it to them. Surely they could fix it. Maybe they already have.

I have started to get that error (also Fatal alert followed by soft reset) quite regularly now.

For more than three months I'd been running NF quite happily in RAM, using the CD version. When I had my first ever hard reset last weekend (caused by Scrabble BTW) I decided to upgrade to NF rev.1.3.5 (d/l'd using a link found in this forum). Problems ever since.

Will return to the CD NF version and learn my lesson (until the next time...)

After the Fatal Exception, PowerRun left NF in RAM. I did a soft reset and then ran again NF through PowerRUN. This time it worked fine and when I closed NF, PowerRUN removed the RAM copy. Everything works fine since then (no MemoryMgr errors at exit)

I know this didn't answer your question though :p

I'm running the latest ZL (3.50B7.1) I think I was always geting the MemoryMgr error on closing NF when it was on the MS with ZL.
I will send ZZtechs an email.

Hi!

I was getting so many fatal errors on my NX-70 from Netfront that I almost threw my Clie out the window in frustration.

Then I read a posting from our friend Larry Winward who suggested that we download the newest version of Netfront from:

http://avina.best.vwh.net/palm.html

Since I did that two weeks ago I have received NO fatal errors and far fewer "Page Too Large" errors.

Make sure that you are using the newer version!
