Hi, once again. Is there any way to connect to the internet without using sony's wireless card? Because that requires you to be a certain distance from a router correct? I am looking for a way to connect while I am travelling. Some sort of monthly wireless package like RIM has. I have only heard bad news about this topic, and I am just looking for a final answer. Can i connect using a card other than sony's? and can i connect while travelling around town? Thank you

Have you tried a blue tooth MS and a blue tooth enabled phone?

Hey! I was just going to say that.:D

The other answer is to move to Japan where you can use any one of three CF card cell phone networks. About $45/month for 24/7 service.

I guess that is not such a practical answer for you. Sorry;) Gomen Ne.

Interesting.. I'll look into the blue tooth situation. However, I don't have a phone with blue tooth so all I see for this solution is $$$ which I don't have.. but i'll check it out. Thanks

To add on the Bleutooth theme, there are several other options:

1) I (on occasion) use the IR port with an IRdA enabled phone. Saves me a lot of money over the Bt version. It's a lot less practical, but when used maybe once or twice a year, who cares.

2) A datacable would also work to connect the Clie and a mobile phone.

3) If you just want to be able to dial-up when you are in a hotel, you could buy a CF modem card (one compatible with the drivers that Pelaca translated) and hook that up to a regular phone line.

It all depends on how mobile you want to be and how much money you want to spend.

You can also use an IR enabled cell phone to get online. I have done both bluetooth and IR with my NX and a Sony Ericsson T68i. The only drawback of IR is the fact that you must have line of sight with the cell phone or you lose your internet connection. Other than that, it's a viable and fairly cheap option.

2. Is there a modem that I can use with my NX.
Thanks

I just purchased a BT Memory Stick in conjunction with a NX70V for $440. I think that just the Stick alone is about $94.
