Hey everyone. When I beam eye.jpg from one palm to the other, i get the error from the recieving clie saying "Data recieved in unknown format." Any ideas why this is happening? I mean, it's a freakin .jpg! Thanks! See ya

The Palm OS doesn't recognize .jpg as a valid file format. .jpg files have to be transfered directly to MS. There may be some beaming utilities that do this, but most of us use MSImport to put .jpg files on our Clies.

The default beaming utility only beams from one device to the RAM of the other, and RAM can't hold invalid file formats.

Ohh. Ok that helps alot thank you. However, I don't know what the Sony developers were thinking about when they came up with that lame idea of only beaming to RAM. I will look for beaming software so that my friend and I can share files. If anyone knows of any, I would greatly appreciate the name of it. Thank you

Try to use McFile in receiver side. I heard it can accept non-palm format files. But I haven't tried.

It's just one of those remnants of the Palm OS not originally supporting expansion cards. The current implementation is still pretty bad compared to PPC. Hopefully OS6 will fix all that up.

how bout just sticking the MS in the other device and copying the file to it (unless it's not a CLIE)....
