If you don't need Bluetooth, get the NX80

There are some distinct differences between the two. Camera is higher resolution on the nz90, 2 megapixels compared to 1.3 on the nx80. That probably wont be an issue with a lot of people. Also the nz90 has a flash, and the nx80 has a 'flashlight', which actually sounds kind of cool as it also works when recording video. The down side is, I read, the light has an effective range of about 3 feet.
The nx80 will be smaller than the nz90, and this seems important to many people. I have a nz90 and the size hasn't bothered me much at all...I love this device!
Battery life is supposed to be improved but, and I realize size is a limiting factor in this, I think every device should have a swappable battery. I don't care how much you extend the battery life (there are no evolutionary power sources on the horizon that I know of, so there are serious limits to this) it won't be enough for me to be comfortable without having a spare on hand.
And of course the previously mentioned Bluetooth which shouldn't take any thought at all - you either need it or you don't.
And of course one more thing, the installed ram, but I'm not really positive how much the user will have available.
The beauty of this is that whichever you finally decide on, you will be getting one of the best handhelds on the market today.

Think of BlueTooth simply as a short-range, non-line-of-sight replacement for IrDA or USB connections to other devices...

You could sync to your desktop or laptop, or connect to a BT enabled wireless phone in your pocket, to use the phone as a modem.

Those are just two examples.

Bluetooth is a major plus if needed. I use mine for Bluetooth Modem, Bluetooth GPS, Bluetooth Printing and Bluetooth Hotsync. Hopefully a soon to be released Bluetooth Keyboard. For a student Bluetooth Modem/Printing/Keyboard would be a natural fit.

Microsoft has already released a BT keyboard/mouse combo unit. About 6 months ago, it is still available. Costs about $130-$150.

I tried the Bluetooth combo and could not get it to work , seems the Microsoft keyboard/mouse only work with the Microsoft BT dongle and vice versa so no communication between the units would occur.

I'm also considering upgrading to a new clié, but I have a few concerns. First, does the nx80 or nx73v come in a "non camera" format similar to the NR70 or NX70 (I already have a digital camera)? I'm also a student and currently my NR70v is treating me quite well; what i'm concerned about when upgrading to a newer clié is that none of them support a stowaway keyboard to my knowledge. I'd love to have WiFi as my university has a wireless network, and the new text recognition software (Decuma if I'm not mistaken) looks very attractive and functional. The layout looks very nice as well, especially with the ability to access the hard-buttons in tablet mode. Or maybe I should wait for OS 6? What do you guys think?
