Gang:
OK - I think it's been firmly established that there are some of us that find the NZ has it's appeal and we'll be purchasing one.
The question I have is from where??? Here's my input, at least as it stands for now:

Amazon.com: has possibilities, lower price and a not-too-bad return policy.
Any other online retailer: Eh - I'm iffy here - some of the horror stories have got me spooked on doing business with one that I don't know in the hopes of getting a bargain. Add to that, some of their return policies don't exactly do much for me.
Ebay: see above.
Sonystyle.com: Can't say I've ever seen a worse return policy for an online retailer.
Best Buy: Possibilities. Still hunting around for objective information on their return policy and the extended warranty. Reading bestbuysux.com didn't help me there.
CompUSA: Not if my life depended on it.
Circuit City: The standout for me. Decent return policy, extended warranty, and "probably" will have a rebate on the price. For some reason, I've given them all my business in the past when it comes to PDA's, but I don't use them for anything else.

I've been to pricegrabber.com and the prices don't sway too much. I'm on the fence between getting a decent online price and losing that "have it in my hands first" appeal of a r/t store and the turnaround times on their return policies. If by some chance I don't like the NZ (not likely - but not impossible), I'm out the loot for anywhere for a week or more.

Your thoughts?

If you're impatient, you can always buy one from a store, then return the brand new unopened unit to them when it comes in from X online retailer. You will also benefit from having a nearly hassle-free return policy and the customary couple of weeks to evaluate the product itself.

I did that when I found out Sony was going to replace my T415 with an NR-70 and it was going to take a while to get to me. Not wanting to be without my Clie for too long I went down to Circuit City and picked one up to see if I'd like it. Once the Sony one came in I brought it back to CC, no hassle at all. I find their sales people on the annoying side but I can't complain about the customer service. 3 weeks after I bought my laptop from them they had it on sale with $100 mail in rebate, When I went to customer service they printed me out a new reciept, gave me the rebate coupon and 8 weeks later I got another $100 off. I just wish they had the selection of Best Buy.

All -

CDW.COM already has the unit in their pricing strategy - and they have excellent return policies.

Another option would be OUTPOST.COM - which is Fry's online retail outlet...you may even be able to get the extended warranty online with them.

Bestbuy has never done me wrong - I tend to buy 99% of all gizmos at either Frys or Best Buy...

Hope this gives you a couple new options...
