Any opinions about which is more stable/better/compatible these days? I think they both have recent releases. Heaven knows you won't get any honest evaluations at PalmGear!

Tried them both. I couldn't get QuickWrite to work properly even with repeated releases.

Purchased TextPlus and have found it very reliable and very useful. It has certainly increased my input speed and accuracy, especially entering jargon.

TextPlus seems to be one of those rare apps that you just set and forget, it's always there with no hassles. Just remember to turn off both TextPlus Anywhere and Graffiti Echo if you want to upgrade!

I haven't used QuickWrite, but have used TextPlus and prefer it to all the other ones out there.

EDIT: I just installed and tried out the trial version of QuickWrite and it basically seems to be a subset of TextPlus.  Meaning you can do with TextPlusall u can do with QuickWrite and more.  For ex: Quickwrite doesn't actually work in Palm Apps, you basically have to launch it and then type in the text into the QuickWrite program.

I would go with TextPlus.

Count another happy TextPlus user here....works great with just about every app I have...

I am just evaluating both apps.

QuickWrite has huge databases available should one desire them, *and* they can be stored on the M/S.

I do keep getting the odd Fatal Exception with QuickWrite though.

TextPlus here.

Good, stable app. I love the double tap to add word/phrase. Great for user specific terms. Also, very stable. It learns by frequency, too.

Great Application

Another vote for TextPlus. I compared it to WordComplete (?) and TextPlus won hands down. It works great and I haven't had any problems.

Actually WordComplete is yet another product so I guess to cover the subject for more people we should also compare it to QuickWrite and TextPlus.

TextPlus has been with me through 4 handhelds.

Only problem so far is that it seems incompatable with JackFlash (neither author tried to help me with a fix).

Another die-hard TextPlus'er here!

TextPlus and WordComplete don't work in Documents2Go either. Due to the way QuickWrite works (not running in an app), it obviously should work with Documents2Go.

WordComplete is okay, but is is more $$$ than TextPlus and is not better. It has more bugs and isn't as polished.

No, I mean that the two cannot co-exist on the same handheld.

Upon Initializing' the ROM cache (before adding anything to it) TextPlus (V4.04) begins to malfunction. A delay appears between grafiti entry and popup of the list--so much so that I can't use it anymore to really speed up my text entry.

that just ruined my day, hearing that the two don't work ( i haven't tried it myself)

I use both JackFlash and TextPlus and have not had any problems. Has anyone else experienced the same thing when both TextPlus and JackFlash are installed?

I am also using both Jackflash and TextPlus with no problems on my NR70. Did the authors say they knew about a problem and wouldn't help or did they just ignore you?

Perhaps the newest versions of each are simply what is needed to solve the problem. But I could be wrong, I don't even have flash rom since I have a US model of the SJ30.

I just get a Fatal Exception if I try to move the black triangle on the right hand side up or down (when I am actually in QuickWrite), although this does not happen when I access Q/W via say the Memo Pad. Must be a bug.

Well, that's just wierd. I guess my T665C is cursed. I never could get QuickWord to work on it either (repeated crashes) in spite of their & my attempts.

I have all the latest versions of each program involved. And unlike QuickWord - JackFlash and TextPlus both functioned just fine independently.

No, they didn't ignore me in that they replied to my emails but in addition to implying that the other guy should fix it, I suspect that they did not want to take the time to put a code man on it for an afternoon. Such is support.

I must say, I rather like Q/W.

i used textplus through 3 handhelds. Now on my clie nx70 textplus does not work with supernames. Thats why i switched to wordcomplete.
so if planing to register textplus, consider if you want to use it with supernames on an OS5 device

I aslo use textplus; you can edit your database and change the frequency for ach word in order to see it in the first ones.

@hherbzilla
After some email-contact to the developers of supernames i found out that this is an issue of OS5 devices for textplus with supernames. In the current beta they blocked textplus in supernames to avoid that crash. The developers of textplus have not answered to my report nor did they answer the supernames developers yet.
So at the moment no chance for textplus with supernames in OS5 .
but i agree that textplus is by far the best writing aid, next to it is only wordcomplete.
Wordwizard is not OS5 compatible, but the programmers told me that they are working on a new version (no dates to tell yet).
