I was playing bejeweled tonight and got a fatal error.

I tried a hard reset and soft reset no luck.

I have the green led on but no display.

I was at 100% per the battery indicator prior to lockup.

I contacted Sony support. They had me perform a hard and soft reset a number of times. They also had me check the position of the hold switch (it was not on). Resets were tried with hold on and off for the Sony tech. The Sony tech told me to put the PDA on the cradle and let it charge. Then try performing a soft and hard reset. I asked the tech what the turn around time was for repair and he said up to two weeks.

What kind of turn around time have any others experienced?

The good news is that I did a sync at work at the end of the day so I have all the data.

If you have a memory stick inserted, remove it and after a couple of hours of charge, if a hard reset does not work you more than likely have a bad display or connection to it. If that's the case, good luck with Sony turnaround time.

Well if you can sit on it long enough before warranty expires, perhaps you will get a new T-series replacement in 5-10 weeks. ;)

UPDATE

Well this AM my Clie had a dead battery. Last night I could not get it to soft/hard reset or turn off.

I took the clie to work and let it charge for about 3 hrs. Turned the Clie on and it is now working. Did a sync with my desktop and I am back in business.

It crossed my mind last night that I would like to remove the battery and force a cold start but with everything built in that was not possible.

This Clie is less than 30 days old (Christmas present). I would like to go for a replacement but since it now works I see problems returning to the store.

Has anyone had a similar problem with their Clie?

The downtime waiting for the battery to go dead would be a real pain if this type of lockup happened very often.

Hi

I got a similar problem. Got my battery almost fully discharged. Charged it and when i tried to turn it on, no display but green led on. I checked everything, MS, hold button, soft reset, hard reset, nothing worked. As I live in México and bought my clie over the US warranty dosent work for me so I just removed the screws and opened my clie(damn, when you open it, its scary). Anyway I disconected the battery and conected it again and voila!
Worked fine since then. By the way it is a T665

See you
