Can you do a screen print on the Clie NX like you can on a desktop PC? I have not found anything that provides this.

Cheers

HrCaptDA is a free screenshot grabber. I think you can find it on launchplug. Make sure you set it to grab BMP to Memory Stick otherwise you need some converion tool.

I use screen shot and I can HotSync it to the desktop PC as a bitmap or jpg.

Some sample shots, bmp & jpg.

I've always wanted one of these. Can't imagine not having one of these in my Clie throughout this whole entire period.

They're both pretty cool, I've chose the HrCaptDa & installed in combination with McPhling. Something I've missed out for a long time. thanks for this info guys. :D

Here's a snapshot of my NX with HrCaptDa with McPhling. & through McPhling I was able to run some of my old DA appz such as the LampClock shown here which works epecially with Clie's Jog-Dial. As you scroll with your Jog-Dial & it shows the battery info/Storage in RAM & MS/ Date. :D

Just loaded HRCAPTDA with McPhling and it works great - thanks for all the help. I will try ScreenShots tomorrow but given HrCaptDa is a freeware I may stick with it

Yes, the Freeware makes it my choice too.

Maybe a tad off-topic, but does anyone know how to get HrCaptDA to work with ZLaunchers Quicklaunch? Quicklaunch is supposed to replace McPhling, but I can't get HrCaptDA to work with QuickLaunch.

Yes, it does work with ZLaunchers QuickLaunch Anywhere. The only trick is, you have to make a new tab. For 'Preset' choose DA. Then all your Desk Accessories will show up. Then just drag the HRCaptDA icon to the QuickLaunch tool and it will be added to your favorites. Then, you can delete that tab if you don't want it.

I'm using hrcapt for a long time, but bmp's can not be attached to clie-mail-emails :-(

Is there a free tool which produces jpg screenshot's?

n2ifp, did you do your sample screenshot directly into jpg-format or did you have to convert the bmp into jpg on your desktop?

I've just downloaded it but the color palette of the resulting BMP is completely screwed-up. Anyone else had this problem?

Same for me. Looks like has to approximate a lot of the colors.

Same here - used HrCaptDA as it worked first time with no install issues. I have got ScreenShot to try but it a shareware. I have downloaded JollyRoger but not installed it

Given there are some issues may just stay with HrCaptDA for now

I downloaded HRcaptDA and DAlauncher, but I can't seem to get the latter to work. It's for os5 too, right? I just can't get the tap point to work at all.

Youl will need a app which launches da (desk-accessories). I do that using teal-launch (and teal-master). You can download trial-version at tealpoint.com

No one answered my question concerning screen-shots in jpg-file-format :.-(

I know. I tried to use DA launcher for that but without success. But then I realized I don't need it. I have Zlauncher after all :D

You can also use McPhling to launch DA's, and that is a free app.

As for the .JPG's, I haven't seen anything to convert bitmaps to JPEG format, but there might be something out there.

That's probably because you can try ScreenShot5 which Larry mentioned for JPG support) yourself.

ScreenShot5 also captures in *.bmp format.

DAlauncher won't work for OS5 it seems....
I've a combination of Mcphling & HrCaptDA.

Oh? I only read the info page (and online manual), but I was under the impression that ScreenShot5 uses a pdb file to store the screenshots and that a HotSync would transform this to a usable file. Didn't see it could also grab BMP to memory stick.

Anyway, I use HrCaptDA with ZLauncher. Works just fine for me. Actually for screenshots when testing thing I'm most lilely to use the Simulator. Unfortunately the Simulator doesn't let you capture just the screen anymore though.

How do you use DAs with ZL on OS5? I can't seem to get them to work without TealWhatever.

cbulock explained this earlier on in the thread. Read a bit back and go to this post (http://www.cliesource.com/forums/showthread.php?postid=230564#post230564)

my hrcaptda captures just the top 320x320, is this right? Any captures for 320x480?

Eddy

HRCaptDA should capture the entire screen 320x480, even when the VG is there.
