I just bought a nx-60, and since it has an IR port, I am wondering if i can use it as a TV remote. I have some no name TV in my room, and I am wondering I can turn my clie into a programmable remote. I know that this might sounds like a noob question, but I couldn't find a solid answer when i did a search for it.

Although bashing posts is not normally one of my strong points- I will point out that before asking "noob" questions it's usually best to read your users manual and search the boards before asking questions.

I did. It mentions creating a new remote, but it only seems to involve preset options (ie, for a sony tv, or a philips dvd player). I am talking about something that will allow a fully programable remote. Like being able to use my sb live drive. Which I assure you, is not covered in the manual.

A dynamite remote that's not too expensive!

Read your manual the one that came in the box.

I have a sony HDTV and the NX60 does NOT effectively work as a remote - more like, "okay I will be a remote, but only if I want to" - a mind of it's own. USE a real remote is my recommendation.

Mugs have you tried using different settings ie RCA codes on sharp Sony on phillips, a lot of times they will work multiple devices

The current version of omniremote unfortunately does not work with OS 5 and therefore does not work with the NX series. They mentioned something about omniremote not written to control the Intel PXA250.
