If you have a memory stick its very easy:

put 320x320 or 320x480 (depending on your clie) jpeg images in the Palm/Programs/YiShow/Wallpaper/ directory and under the Options menu select skin manager and then the "bg" button and it'll show you all the pictures you can use as backgrounds.

I am having a similar issue. I don't have a YiShow directory on my MS. Was there supposed to be one created when I loaded YiShow or do I create one.

Also what app should I use to put them into the directory? MS import (haven't used it yet).

One last thought, how is the best way to remove the SB, VG etc?
Thanks.

The best way is to use msimport on your clie and just open it in my computer like a hard drive (I've never used msexport, never will) then simply create the folders as described. Then copy files to that directory using the same program.

As for removing SB and VG, why? When you want to change skins you just select them and install. And there should be a skin that says "system something", which is the origonal skin.

Hope that helps.

Rob,

So I need to create the new folder described by YiShow as:
/Palm/programs/YiShow/Skin/
/Palm/programs/YiShow/Wallpaper

then move the skins and backrounds onto the MS via msimport?

Thanks.

That is perfectly correct.

What if you don't have a MS?? Then how do you get the background in there?

Good question. But a MS is a real need eventually due to the limited amount of ram. Not sure otherwise.

Rob_Squared. thanks, I got it to work. But I found one thing of interest. I have dowloaded a bunch of YiShow BG files, some skins etc. But not all of the BG files appear, and none of the SK will appear in the folder? Any thoughts.

My next trick will be to change the VG area. For that try my best.

http://www.LaunchPlug.com/YiShow_inst.html will answer those questions. You CAN use backgrounds and themes without a Memory Stick, but it's much easier if you have one to start with. The page also has links to the YiShow Tips page with more info that you may find useful.

Hope it helps smooth the process for you!

Cheers.

Hi I have created the folder and install some JPEG with the 320X320 spec but still cannot install any Background image. Error msg " Can not Set Background Image"...I am using a Clie 760.

Can help?

General info:

All pics must be size of entire screen, ie 320x320, 320x480. If they're one pixel off it won't work. Also, I can't remember if the 760 is hi-res?

Oh, and I only use jpg images.

i'm having similar troubles, i can't load skins or backgorunds. when in theyishow skin manager all i see is the default HiRes skin. i've used ms import to put the quicktime skin on my ms, is there something wrong with that skin or is the problem elsewhere?
