Thank you to all that have answered my MS pro question. Now, what about a CF card? And I would need a driver? Where do I get that?? Do you use it the same way as the MS? Can you use BOTH simutainously?? Is the CF card able to run MP3's, pictues, video, ect, ect, ect. Sorry to sound like a dummy here, but this is quite new to me! Any web pages where I can read up on all this??

THANK YOU ALL!!

Cheers,
Steve Hodsdon:D

Yes, you need a CF driver. Although it gives extra storage, it's not the same as the MS and has it's limitations still. Both can be used at the same time, but there are steps to do that and performance can suffer, depending on what your doing. For example, if your listening to tunes on the Clie and trying to play a game at the same time, the game will run slower. If time is important and your always on the fly, then the memory stick maybe your best option.

Its probobly best to keep games and multimedia on a MS, books and other data on CF.

i was just wondering, if i get a NX80, and i dont have a memstick reader, would i need one to put stuff like movies onto the PDA?
would i be able to use the cradle to upload files?

yes, you can do that with the new NX80 (without a memstick reader), the new NX80/NX73 has native MS Pro compatibility. All you'd need is your cradle then you're all set.
The NX80/73 comes with Data Import/Export similar to MS Import/Export, allows you to transfer data to & from your MS/CF.

Well, I followed all of your advise, got the driver from Eruware and popped in a spare 16 meg CF card I had (Sandisk). WOW! What a breeze it was to install and get running. I have both the MS and CF recognised, and can copy back and forth... ect. I love it!! Thanks to all who put up with my "beginners stupidity!"

Cheers,
Steve H.

glad you got it up and running, so what's your next step? bigger size CF card? ;p But you might also want to do some research before jumping to a 1G CF. Actually most 256MB size CF works best overall, dealing especially with Movies. MP3s wouldn't be any problem whatsoever on even bigger size CFs.

Well now, you've got me thinking!! Bigger is better, 'eh?? I thought another 16 would be fine, but......... MP3's? Nah, doesn't interest me right now. Movies?? Now I'm interested. What kind, where to get them........ yada yada yada. 'Course with the built in camera you can always make............................. NEVER MIND!!

LOL :)
well, the CF Driver as of date doesn't support direct capture with the built-in camera to the CF (this might be resolved soon in the upcoming release).
As with the CF size, bigger doesn't always mean better.
I find that my SanDisk 256MB CF suits me just fine. I personally wouldn't recommend CFs with MicroDrives/ or the Ultras, since they can be power hungry.

As with movies, using the ImageConverter software you can generate small video clip (eg. mini short episodes) & view them off your palm with MoviePlayer. Or you can use Kinoma Player & there's a site that has some great clips available. If you expand into this movie area then you'll start to have the need for more storage space! :D
