I'm looking to buy Sony GPS Memory Stick PEGA-MSG1. Does anybody have any suggestions where to buy this thing and any ideas on pricing? So far I was able to find it at one place only:

http://shop.brando.com.hk/pega-msg1.php

Price - $210 plus shipping.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Is this a Sony product, or does another company such as Garmin make it - and does it work on the NX60 - ie color would be nice - I currently use the Garmin GPS V - an outstanding GPS device.

I heard it does not use NMEA(National Marine Electronic Association) format, so it is useless in the USA. At least I haven't heard anyone in the USA use it. I'll be happy for someone to prove me wrong. Even the manual is in Japanese. Besides, GPS maps take up lots of memory. I have Garmin eTrex Vista that has 25 MB RAM for loading maps. If you use the MS slot for the GPS, how much free RAM do you have in your Clie for the maps?

I think he is asking about MSG1 for GPS, not MSB1 for Bluetooth.

Majorly discussed. Doesn't output NMEA . No external memory for maps. Japanese instructions only. Threads all lost in Great Purge. Might require proprietary Japanese software (NAv'nUPocket?).
Good luck....

I wouldn't recommend using a PDA as a GPS unit. GPS units for the most part are built rugedly and sometimes even water/weather proof as is my Garmin GPS V - the GPS V might not be a color unit, but it works great in the cold damp wet climates that I need it to work - plus I can use it on the roads to find places to eat and sleep.

Hi everybody, I am trying to make the MS GPS to work in NEMA standard. Now, I have all hardware on hand.

I tried to find the GPS SDK from Sony web site. Unfortunely, the SDK is removed from US. Is anyone has d/l the SDK in the past. Would you forward the SDK to me (year1997@mail.hongkong.com)?

P.S. This is the original link: http://www.us.sonypdadev.com/develop_tool/gps_sdk.html
But the file is removed from server.

Thanks in advance.
